Allen was having some water issues in his basement where water was coming in from the back 2 corners. The water creates small puddles and this has been happening for a couple years. He just wanted it fixed finally so he called us for a solution to the problem. We first installed the WaterGuard system. It is a French drain system that is installed under the floor but above the foundation to keep it out of the area where it could clog. The WaterGuard collects the water that seeps into the basement and gets it out of the house through the discharge line. We also attached the IceGuard to the discharge line to keep the line from freezing in the winter. The frozen water in the pipes would cause a back up of water which could lead to flooding in the basement but the IceGuard ensures a secondary route for the water to escape in cold months.

Jennifer called after concern over water coming through her basement. She knew she had no sump pump pump to help take care of this issue so she called Ayers. After inspection, our crew decided to install our TripleSafe Sump Pump and our SaniDry Dehumidifier System. 

The TripleSafe consists of three sump pumps total so in the event one fails, there are backups with battery operation in place in case of emergency power outages. These pumps will ensure to remove excess water from the basement. The SaniDry Dehumidifier creates dry, clean air which reduces the risk of mold growth from excess moisture in the air.

An effort to finished this basement in Osceola, IN turned into adding in a basement bedroom. Unfortunately, the bedroom wouldn’t be too inviting the way it was. The only window was a small rectangular block high on the wall. To make the room feel more homelike and less “basementy”, not to mention meeting safety codes, the owner had decided to upgrade that rectangle to an egress window and well.

First, the crew removed the original window and filled in the hole with block wall material. Then came the installation of the egress. An egress window will benefit this basement in more than just adding light; the well and window are made of inorganic plastic material so they won’t erode or leak. The comparison between the before and after photos shows just how much of an effect a one-day installation can have for a basement.
