Fixing a Bowing Wall in a Wet Basement

When our customer called with water problems in his basement, we expected to install a waterproofing system. Upon inspection, though, our System Design Specialist saw that one of the basement walls was badly bowed.

In addition to waterproofing the basement, we installed five PowerBraces to stabilize the wall. The PowerBrace system allows for tightening, which means over time we can hopefully straighten the wall.

Bowing Wall In Holland, MI Supported With PowerBraces

Henry called about some cracks between the blocks in his basement walls. Upon inspection, we found some stairstep cracking but even more prominent was a large horizontal crack where the wall was bowing quite extensively. If allowed to continue, the wall would eventually cave in. At that point, you're obviously looking to do a total wall replacement. Instead, by acting early, we were able to properly support the home and prevent any further bowing with galvanized steel PowerBraces along the wall. The Braces are essentially a steel I-beam that extend from the floor to the joists above. At the top they actually feature a unique tightening system that allows the homeowner or our service team to adjust the braces over time, potentially improving the condition of the wall little by little. These PowerBraces are a permanent fix that the Henry can put his trust in.

Installing the GeoLock Anchor System in Holland, MI

There was a horizontal crack about fifteen feet long on Thomas’s basement wall. So our team installed the GeoLock Anchor System which permanently stabilized his wall. In most cases it can eventually push the wall back to its original position. It is done by putting heavy anchors in stable soil away from your foundation wall. This system is ideal because it involves minimal disturbance to Thomas's lawn and home.

Leveling and Lifting Concrete in Holland, MI

Various parts of Jim's concrete were sinking making his driveway uneven. So our team installed PolyLevel, a system designed to fix concrete slabs that have sunk by using a new product to lift the concrete slabs back to their original level. The new product used is a polyurethane foam that expands and has a high density in order to raise the concrete. The process is quite simple and is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and then inserting the foam into the holes. Also, the PolyLevel system is waterproof and long-lasting.
