CleanSpace Solutions Seal and Protect Onekama, MI Crawl Space From Excess Water and Moisture

Frank was hoping to seal up his crawl space with a vapor barrier. He did some research and found that Ayers sold the perfect solutions for his crawl space. He gave us a call and we sent a crew out for a free inspection to determine what products he could use to tackle this. Our System Design Specialists concluded Frank would need CleanSpace, SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, and our SuperSump Plus.

The first product installed was CleanSpace which is a thick, durable plastic liner that utilizes this vapor barrier quality he was looking for. The vapor barrier protects against excess water or moisture development. Too much moisture can lead to mold or bacteria growth. We also installed SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier which will eliminate moisture and water in the air, keeping it free from musty smells or mold spores. It costs less to run and can remove up to 95 pints of water a day. Lastly, SuperSump Plus was added to tackle any water leaks. It can pump 2200 gallons of water an hour at an 8 foot head.

Now that Frank's crawl space is protected with an efficient, long-lasting system he's relieved of the issues with his crawl space he was tired of dealing with!

Moist and Moldy Crawl Space Fixed With CleanSpace in Dorr, MI

You wouldn’t want moisture or mold in your living room, so why would you want it in your crawl space?! These homeowners in Dorr, MI knew that they had to do something about their damp crawl space once they spotted mold. They called Ayers, and our crew visited their home to inspect the crawl space. The solution we provided them with was a durable liner and a drain to keep moisture out. CleanSpace, thick, multi-layer liner was fixed to the walls, covering the floor. This antimicrobial provides a barrier to moisture and water vapor, keeping mold away. Additionally, SmartDrain helps drain leaks in this dirt crawl space and features an alarm that alerts the homeowners to the leak. Both CleanSpace and SmartDrain ensure that moisture and mold will no longer be a problem in this crawl space.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Three Rivers, MI

We received a call from this customer about his rental property. He was interested in having his crawl space encapsulated. There was no system in place at the time, so the crawl space was left vulnerable to the outside world and all the problems that come along with it. Not to mention, a dirt crawl space in the basement can be a bit of an eyesore.

The goal of crawl space encapsulation is to create a barrier between the space and all things that would do it harm, specifically moisture and mold. Both water vapor and ground water can pass through exposed earth and into your crawl space. The added moisture will hang around your home, raise humidity, and then invite mold to join. To protect this crawl space, the team used our CleanSpace system. The system installed used two products: our drainage matting and the CleanSpace vapor barrier. The matting prevents water from becoming trapped in the space, while the durable vapor barrier keeps water vapor and humidity from entering.

Crawl Space Sealed With CleanSpace Three Rivers, MI

This home in Three Rivers, MI was located on a lake, and was a summer retreat for the homeowners. The only problem was that the crawl space was constantly damp. Although no one spent any time down there, encapsulating the crawl space was a step to help improve the air quality of the home and making the space usable for storage. CleanSpace was installed to provide a protective moisture barrier. Its multiple layers of cord reinforced polyester make it tough and long-lasting, ensuring that it will stay in place. By keeping moisture out of the crawl space, CleanSpace eliminates the wet, musty crawl space smell and allows for drier, cleaner air to be moved throughout the home.

CleanSpace Saves Damp Crawl Space in Three Rivers, MI

Ken S. called because his crawl space was consistently damp due to his home being near a lake. The exposed earth in his dirt crawl space was letting a continuous stream of water vapor into the space, which increases the moisture level and the likelihood that mold and rot will form. This high amount of moisture will move upward into other areas of his home due to the “Stack Effect” bringing the damp air and mold spores with it. The porous cement block walls in his crawl space also serve as a source for water vapor to easily enter the space and increase the relative humidity.

To combat this problem we installed CleanSpace, which is a durable, waterproof and vapor proof liner that prevents any outside air or moisture from getting in. The white color will brighten the space and it is securely fastened to your walls so it will stay in place. We also installed the FrothPak insulation to seal and insulate the crawl space walls. This is perfect for a crawl space because it doesn’t absorb ambient moisture and is made from inorganic material so you will never have to worry about mold growth.
