Encapsulating a Crawl Space in Union City MI

Martin wanted his crawl space encapsulated to keep out mold and water. We first installed the Drainage Matting. This mat has dimples in it to allow any water that gets in to flow under the liner and can be directed to the sump pump. The CleanSpace Liner is installed over top of the matting as a vapor barrier. This liner stops water vapor, humidity, and pests from passing through the foundation into the space. There is also an additive in the liner which prevents mold growth to keep the space and home dry!

Our customer called with major water and mold issues in his crawl space. We used CleanSpace vapor barrier to encapsulate the crawl space after adding a layer of drainage matting to help water flow to the new Smart Sump pump. A SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed to control ambient moisture.

CleanSpace Used to Upgrade Damp Crawl Space in Grawn, MI

This dirt crawl space was in terrible condition, but our team of experts knew just what to do. The main problem affecting this space was that the exposed earth creates a constant stream of water vapor and without properly removing that moisture, mold and rot can occur. As you can see in the before picture, the insulation is completely saturated with water and has fallen to the ground. Most insulation is made from organic material, making it the perfect home for mold to grow, not to mention fallen insulation will do nothing for your home. The “Stack Effect” causes air from the crawl space to travel up into your home, meaning any water vapor, mold spores, and musty smells will become present within your home.

In order to combat this problem we installed CleanSpace, which is a waterproof, plastic liner that is used to encapsulate a crawl space to keep the outside environment from getting in. We also installed SliverGlo, which is an energy efficient insulation that is moisture and mold resistant. Lastly, we used FrothPak spray foam insulation, which is also water-resistant so you wont have to worry about it becoming saturated and falling down.

The CleanSpace Dries the Swamp Below a Lakefront Cottage in Grawn, MI

Ted and Charlotte P. own a cottage in Grawn, MI. This wonderful couple was struggling with a constantly wet crawl space. Living near the lake, a high-water table was causing water and moisture to come up through the floor. While at their main residence down state, Ted and Charlotte saw one of our TV ads about addressed a wet crawl space.

Upon scheduling a free inspection and inviting us to their cottage, our new friends worked with our guiding experts to devise a solution that met their budget and solved their wet crawl space problems. After seeking other proposals, the right one was clear for Ted and Charlotte. The couple elected to have us install our CleanSpace Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace encapsulation system. Along with these solutions, we installed a highly efficient sump pump to ensure the crawl space remains dry. Since the installation of the new system, having a cottage on a lake has no longer been a sweat for our new friends. Call us today, to schedule your free estimate.

How We Kept Out Cedar, MI Chipmunks with CleanSpace

The crawl space in the before picture had taken a lot of abuse after a few chipmunks found a way inside and made themselves at home. Not only had the previous encapsulation been ripped apart, but most of the insulation wasn’t in working condition either. Naturally, the owners wanted a few repairs. They called us and requested for all of the previous insulation to be torn out and redone. Except, this time, they wanted a system that would last.

The after photo shows our CleanSpace vapor barrier. The liner is strong enough to endure regular maintenance checks  without ripping. As you can see the liner covers both the walls and floor of the crawl space, but what isn’t visible in the after photo is the Terrablock insulation foam resting on the floor. With CleanSpace on top of the foam, the insulation won’t suffer the same type of damage that happened before. In fact, this entire crawl space will be able to endure more than ever before.
