Frank has crawl space in his home that was exposed to the elements by an uncovered vent. The vent allowed moisture and other debris in his crawlspace, which led to mold and other problems.  There was also a tarp on the floor of the space being used a vapor barrier, retailers often falsely advertise basic tarps as vapor barriers when in reality they do nothing.

Our team fixed Frank's problems with multiple CleanSpace solutions. First we used a dehumdifier to get rid of all the moisture. Then we installed CleanSpace vent covers to prevent anything else from coming into the crawl space, CleanSpace drainage matting to help flow any moisture to the Smart Drain that was also installed.

Eric’s dirt floor crawl space was cluttered with debris and contributed to moisture and humidity in the home. This is typical with dirt floor crawl spaces because they are left open to all the outside elements. All the humidity let in from the dirt floor can cause foundation issues which Eric was also experiencing. To clean up his crawl space and solve his foundation issues, our team came out and installed CleanSpace and SmartJacks. 

CleanSpace is an uninterrupted vapor barrier designed to keep out any unwanted pests, moisture, and mold. This barrier restricts airflow and therefore makes controlling the temperature of the home much easier. CleanSpace is applied to the floors and walls and wrapped around pillars and piers carefully to ensure that the space looks clean and refreshed.

SmartJacks support sagging floor joists and beams.  Floors above basements and crawl spaces are vulnerable due to the damp nature of the lowest floor. The SmartJack system is a permanent fix to these issues. It uses steel columns, threaded rods, and a solid base to address any problems your basement may have. Installing this system usually takes less than a day and it provides immediate stabilization.

Now Eric's home is dry, has better air quality, and has a supportive foundation.

Longtime Portage homeowners Rande and his wife were tired of running up and down stairs to vacuum up water every time it rained. The before photo shows the unprotected crawl space and where moisture would come through the dirt floor and walls. Around the edges of the crawl space, water had started to puddles up and dampen the dirt floor. The walls had also started to stain from moisture. CleanSpace vapor barrier was the solution to keeping water out and improving the living conditions of this home. The moisture liner blocks out water and won’t allow for mold growth either. Also seen in the after photo are the SilverGlo panels and FrothPak insulation. SilverGlo wall panels and FrothPak are a form of insulation that keeps out air and humidity. All three products create an airtight seal that won’t allow moisture or imperfect temperatures to enter. 

This homeowner in Jackson, MI contacted us inquiring about services we could offer her to help her save money on her energy bills each month. After visiting the home, we identified several areas that could be improved, including the crawl space. Often times the floors above a crawl space will be cold if the crawl space isn’t properly insulated. We added TerraBlock insulation to the floors and SilverGlo to the walls to reflect heat back into the space, making it warmer. The last step was to add the CleanSpace liner to block water vapor and lower humidity in the space. By fixing up her crawl space, this homeowner is sure to save on her energy bills.
