A homeowner in Westland, MI found a leak in the corner of their basement. They noticed that they would regularly encounter water entering their home during heavy rains. It became clear that they needed to control the water before the damage was irreparable. The homeowner reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair and scheduled a free inspection to see what could be done.

Sidney, one of HomeSpec’s inspection managers, visited the residence and spoke with the owner. They reviewed their concerns and Sideny proceeded to investigate the basement. He saw where water was intruding as described but also noted additional areas. Sidney proposed that the homeowner allow HomeSpec to install an interior drainage system using WaterGuard®. The IDS would line each wall and connect to a sump pump and discharge line. With this system in place, any water that was on its way into the home would be captured, escorted to the sump pump, and then discharged away from the house. The homeowner agreed to this plan and it was brought to life. The crew that installed this project was led by a foreman named Michael. Their completed work met the homeowner’s goals and prevented further damage.

A homeowner in Romulus, Michigan contacted HomeSpec after buying a home with apparent water damage in the basement. The walls were water damaged and stained severely because water was seeping in at the base of the wall. 

HomeSpec tackled this issue by installing a vapor barrier over the bottom of the wall to hide the unsightly stains and to direct the water leaking in down into a WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System. This system collects the water and deposits it into the TripleSafe Sump Pump to be funneled away from the foundation. All three of these work together seamlessly to keep the basement dry and looking great!

A home in Livonia, MI was experiencing leaks throughout their basement, which included the bathroom. The homeowners were irritated with the constant water intrusion and did not want to worry about these issues any longer. This was especially concerning because their basement was finished with drywall and epoxy floors. They moved into the home in 1987 and had no intentions of moving in the future so it was important to them to take care of the house. A project manager, Jeremiah, went out to the home and took a look both inside and outside. It was important for him to have a full understanding of the situation so he could provide an accurate repair plan. Jeremiah proposed installing waterproofing products to capture the water and remove it from the home. This would be done using a WaterGuard® interior drainage system that connects to a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump. He also suggested installing the waterproof basement finishing products Everlast Wall Restoration System and ThermalDry® Floor Tiles to maintain the finished aesthetic. The homeowners approved of this plan and chose the sandstone color option for the tiles. Due to the scope of the work multiple crews were required to install everything in a timely manner. After the project was completed the homeowners were happy with the results both in terms of efficiency and appearance.
