Finished Wall Restoration System Installed to Waterproof Keego Harbor, MI Basement
This Michigan home had a very unique feature - a long window well along one entire side of their basement with a timber retaining wall. It was a beautiful feature and allowed for a large window in the basement bedroom that let in tons of natural light. But it came with a big problem: WATER.
There was a high amount of water under the home and water would pool in the window well especially after heavy rain, so water was seeping into the basement. There was no interior drainage system to prevent this and only one sump pump on the other side of the large basement. There was also not proper drainage in the window well. These circumstances all led to a big headache for the homeowners and their finished basement.
But our crew promptly solved this issue by installing an interior drainage system along the section of the basement that borders the window well, as well as installing exterior drainage in the window well. We also installed two brand new TripleSafe sump pumps to handle the high levels of water. To finish it off, we installed our Everlast™ Finished Wall Restoration System. These inorganic, mold-resistant wall panels replace the bottom 3 feet of the wall. This prevents the finished basement walls from becoming damaged by water while giving an appealing finished appearance to the room.
This long-lasting solution will keep this finished basement dry and looking great for years to come, and the homeowners are very pleased!
New Interior Drainage System and Sump Pump Waterproof Leaky Basement in Pontiac, MI
A homeowner in Pontiac, MI was getting sick and tired of cleaning up leaking water all of the time. The water was intruding where the wall meets the floor in their basement. This homeowner was not going to wait for things to get worse and instead called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for an inspection.
HomeSpec’s Senior Project Manager, Ted, visited the home to provide the inspection. After evaluating the situation, he recommended an interior drainage system, IDS, to capture the water from the basement, a sump pump, and a new sump discharge so the captured water could be pumped out and expelled numerous feet away from the house. To do all of this would require temporarily relocating the clothing washer, dryer, and laundry tub. The homeowner agreed with the proposal and a team was scheduled to return at a later date.
The crew was led by Foreman Jon and Plumber Rick. When they arrived on the scene, it became clear that there was a bit of a problem. This basement had a footer that created a stairstep effect. Because of this, the wall did not meet where the new interior drainage system would be installed in the floor. To solve this problem, the crew used waterproofing material, called Wallie, to capture water from above the footing and lead it into the IDS below. They continued with the remainder of the installation, leaving the basement dry and tidy. The homeowner was very happy with the entire experience and left a five-star review on Google.
Trenton, MI Leaking Basement Fix Includes New Sump Pump
A couple in Trenton, MI noticed that water was coming through a crack in the basement consistently. They planned on being in the home for a long time and did not want to constantly worry about their health or fixing damage caused by the water. They decided to reach out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to see how much the repairs would cost. Because they are the homeowners, the inspection would be free.
Elon, a project manager for HomeSpec, went out to the home and evaluated both the interior and exterior. He was able to see where the water was coming from and come up with a repair plan. He worked with the homeowners to come up with a plan that they approved of. Together, they decided to fix the crack using high pressure urethane injections, meaning the space behind the crack would be filled so water could no longer leak through. They also decided to waterproof the basement using special WaterGuard® french drains that would connect to a new sump pump. This plan was made a reality by two HomeSpec teams led by Brandon and Domonique. The homeowners were very happy with their work!
Unfinished Leaking Basement in Riverview, MI Finished
An unfinished basement that's leaking water can be a major problem for homeowners. When water enters an basement, it can cause damage to the concrete walls and floor, leading to cracking and weakening of the structure. This can cause mold growth, which is not only unsightly but can also be harmful to your health and create unpleasant odors. In addition, the damp environment can make it difficult to use the space for storage or even as a living area. An unfinished basement can also lower the overall value of your home.
This is why our Project Manager recommended The WaterGuard Drainage System and The EverLast Wall Support System. These systems are designed to address the water leaking into the basement and provide homeowners with a permanent solution to their basement waterproofing needs. Firstly, The WaterGuard Drainage System collects water that enters the basement and directs it to a sump pump for safe discharge, preventing water from causing damage to the walls and floor. Secondly, The EverLast Wall Support System reinforces and stabilizes the walls, providing a strong barrier against cracking and bowing. Together, these systems help to create a dry, healthy, and usable living space in the basement. Now these homeowners can enjoy the benefits of a finished basement without the worry of water damage, mold growth, and structural problems.
