Adam in Hendricks, MN was concerned about the cracked and bowing walls in his basement. He contacted American Waterworks to learn more about our foundation repair solutions. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radkte, to his home to inspect his basement, develop a solution and provide him with a FREE estimate! Jeremy put together a thorough plan to permanently repair Adam’s foundation using wall anchors.

Our production crew started installing the wall anchors by drilling small holes through his foundation walls and inserting long metal rods. They also dug small holes in the soil surrounding the home that lined up with the holes drilled in the walls. Then, they secured both ends of the rods with anchor plates and tightened them. The installation only took a couple of days to complete, and now Adam’s foundation is permanently stabilized.

A nervous homeowner in Wimbledon, ND, hoped to stabilize their home properly. After comparing many companies, American Waterworks stood apart from the rest. The homeowner contacted us and signed up for their FREE estimate. We sent out our Design Specialist, Ian, to examine the current status of the home's structure.  Ian recommended stabilizing the foundation and putting in a supplemental beam. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowners agreed with Ian's recommendations, and the plan was put into action. Our crew traveled out to the property and started by installing nine SmartJacks along the main beam. The SmartJacks were placed approximately six feet apart. Additionally, a seven-foot-long supplemental beam was installed on the north wall. The homeowner was impressed with the efficient job done by the crew. Ryan and Rachel W. of Arco, MN had a bowing foundation wall, causing them to worry about the safety and stability of their house. They did some research online and came across American Waterworks on Google. After looking through our services, Ryan and Rachel got in contact with our office staff and scheduled a FREE estimate. Our Foreman and his production team started the installation by digging small holes beyond the foundation. From the interior foundation, our team inserted long, metal rods from the inside to the outside to where the holes were dug. Our team screwed on and tightened an anchor to the end of each rod, extending out to the compacted soil beyond their home, anchored themselves there, and braced the foundation wall. To complete the installation, our team backfilled each hole, compacted the soil, and ensured the yard was neater than when they found it.

A homeowner in Balaton, MN, was down in her basement doing laundry when she noticed the large cracks forming along her basement walls. Worried that it could worsen, she began her research for services in the area. She found our website and was impressed with our reviews and "Before and After" stories. She immediately contacted us and claimed her FREE estimate. In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Eric H. traveled to the home to assess the foundation. 

Eric had informed the homeowner that the moisture content of the soil caused it to expand and put pressure on the wall. When that pressure exceeds what the wall can withstand, it is common to see cracking, bowing, tilting inwards, and sliding at the bottom of the foundation wall. Eric suggested our PowerBrace, steel-I beams that will stabilize walls in their current position. The PowerBrace is customized to fit the height of the wall. Then, the top of each brace is attached to the top of the wall using a specially designed bracket that is bolted to the floor joist. This bracket contains a large-diameter bolt for adjusting and tightening after the installation. The steel-I beam is then straightened before it is attached to the floor. Once it is attached to the floor, the brackets that anchor each I-beam to a floor are tightened. This forces a tilted or bowed wall back to its vertical and straight position. It can also be tightened over time to make bowing or tilting walls straighter. The homeowner was thankful for Eric's explanation and solution and agreed to his plan.

In about a month, our Foreman, Jeremiah F., and his team arrived at the home to install 11 PowerBrace's in the basement of the home. Now, our customer can happily do her laundry, knowing that her walls are secured.
