If a crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues will extend to every part of the home. Alfred, from Ellendale, ND, was beginning to fear that his unstable crawl space was causing issues throughout the rest of his home and wanted to make sure that the issue was corrected before any more damage could be done. 

After deciding on our company, Alfred gave us a call, and we set him up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how we could help. 

We explained that the home is a system, and every part of that system plays a role that affects the rest of the structure. Our recommendations were approved, and so we got to work! Our Foreman, Cameron, and his team worked diligently to install a variety of products. First up was our Aprilaire Dehumidifier, which reduces the humidity levels, musty smells, and odors, as well as makes the home drier and more comfortable. Next, our Foamax Wall Panels were installed, which is a foam insulation that is a great investment and brightens the entire basement. Then, the crew sprayed the remaining points of entry with our SprayFoam. Finally, Cameron installed our PowerBrace wall repair system to fix the wall. He explained that The PowerBrace is a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. He went on to say that the steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment and that, over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know he no longer had to worry about a faulty crawl space affecting the rest of his home! 

John, a homeowner in Cleveland, ND needed a solution for his basement water issues.

He needed assistance accurately diagnosing the cause of water intrusion, musty odors, and mildew in the basement and wanted a reliable waterproofing system to eliminate these problems and create lasting peace of mind. He researched and decided to call us for a FREE estimate to understand our possible solutions. Our Foreman traveled to his home to take a look around. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was ready to recommend a plan to transform the basement into a healthy, clean space.

First, the team did a half-wall demo in the northeast corner of the basement to more effectively install our WaterGuard solution. They then began breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System along the basement's North, East, and South walls where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The crew then added CleanSpace to encapsulate the basement to prevent moisture and mold from affecting the rest of the foundation. There was also a small room under a stoop that the team fully wrapped with CleanSpace in order to protect the area best. Next, to direct water away from the home's foundation so that it would not leak back into the basement, the team added a 30-foot discharge line from the North end of the basement near the stoop, through the TripleSafe Sump Pump out into the yard. The team also implemented our LawnScape Outlet, which is a pipe buried from the downspout that lets water outside onto the surface of the lawn while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning, minimizing maintenance for your home. Furthermore, American Waterworks can help prevent wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines. We installed the patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation if the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that his basement had been transformed, and he no longer had to worry about water intrusion! 

Kim B.'s foundation wall in Bowdon, ND was collapsing, causing her to worry about the value and safety of her home. She got in contact with our office staff and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to her home, carefully inspected her foundation wall, and drew out a solution that would benefit her wants and needs. She was confident in Ian's proposal of our ShotLock, so she signed his contract, put down a deposit, and scheduled a date for the installation. 

Our Foremen, Matt Zeller and Ryan Loe, installed 33 feet of our ShotLock Wall Restoration System. Out ShotLock is double the strength of regular concrete, restores the safety and property value of the home, and is a fast alternate for rebuilding a deteriorating foundation wall. Kim was happy with the work and could not believe the transformation!

Dallas K. in Hills, MN was suffering from a wet basement. Water was seeping through his block foundation and his sump pump was old and overdue for maintenance. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate for basement waterproofing. We sent one of our expert Design Specialists to his home to inspect the basement and develop the proper solution. After the inspection, our Design Specialist determined that Dallas would best benefit by having our full waterproofing system installed and Dallas agreed.

Our production crew started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor and laying our WaterGuard drainage system. Then, they installed our TripleSafe sump pump in place of the old sump pump and replaced the concrete over the drainage system and around the sump pump. Since water was also leaking into the basement through the block foundation, we installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system along the basement walls. This protects the basement from moisture and potential mold growth. The installation took a few days to complete, but now Dallas and his family are enjoying a dry, bright, and healthy space!

A homeowner in Adrain, ND, was watching their local news when their attention was caught by a segment discussing the dangers and importance of testing your radon levels. Worried their home could be at risk, the homeowner began looking into radon testing and mitigation near Adrain, ND. One of the first companies to catch their eye was us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson. Once he arrived, Jackson introduced himself to the homeowner and they performed one of the radon tests. Radon is an invisible, odorless, and tasteless gas that can lead to lung cancer and other health complications. Once the test was complete, Jackson discovered that the levels were significantly high and a radon mitigation system needed to be installed. Jackson shared his findings with the homeowner and recommended installing a radon mitigation system in the home. Wanting to lower their levels, the homeowner decided to go ahead with the proposal. After Jackson received the stamp of approval, he sent the proposal to our office to have it approved. Once the project was approved, Jackson was able to travel back to the home and install the Radon Mitigation System. Jackson successfully installed the Radon Mitigation System outside the home, so he cleaned up his materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their home was no longer at risk.
