Wheaton, MN Water Woes Addressed
John, a homeowner in Wheaton, MN, needed a solution for his basement water issues. With heavy rainfall, water entered the basement where the floor and foundation meet, and egress windows were filling up with water. After looking around he went on the American Waterworks website and we set him up with a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian. Ian went to his home to inspect the leaks and devise a solution. John got all of his questions answered and was confident in Ian's proposal, so he moved forward with the project.
First, Foreman and his production crew started the installation by completing a half-wall demo and then breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System along the East wall of the basement where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, Zachary and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Are you having water problems in your basement? Next, our TripleSafe Sump Pump System was implemented in the basement. Our TripleSafe Sump Pump has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner may experience. The TripleSafe Sump Pump also comes with a battery backup which helps when the home may lose power; the sump pump will still function and drain the excess water. To complete the project, the team covered the gaps with engineer fill, preventing soil from entering the Sump Basket and damaging the Pump System. Then they apply a new layer of concrete to give a finishing look. Finally, the team worked to fix the leaky basement windows with the WellDuct® Basement Window System to redirect flooding to a perimeter drain or drywell.
Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that his basement had been transformed and he no longer had to worry about water intrusion!
Crawl Space Renovation in Hope, ND
A homeowner in Hope, ND, decided to investigate the status of the crawl space in their home. As soon as they entered the crawlspace, dust and dirt erupted in their face. Disgusted with the status of the crawlspace, the homeowner wanted to encapsulate it. After seeing a before and after advertisment on Facebook, the homeowner decided to sign up for a FREE estimate with American Waterworks. We sent out our Design Specialist, Kole, to investigate the status of the crawlspace. Following his evaluation, Kole suggested utilizing Foamax and CleanSpace to close off the crawlspace. The homeowners agreed and we sent our crews out. Our Foreman, Domenic, and his crew started by removing the plastic and insulation on the walls. Then, the crew removed any debris in the crawl space. Once the crawlspace was cleaned out, the crew installed drainage matting and laid CleanSpace to seal the crawl space. Next, the crew applied Foamax on all interior foundation walls except where the crawlspace and basement meet. Finally, the crew applied SprayFoam on the exterior walls, except where the crawlspace and basement met. Once the installation was complete, the homeowners were pleased that their crawlspace was encapsulated. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for a FREE estimate today!

WaterGuard Saves Basement in Jackson, MN
A homeowner in Jackson, MN, previously had work completed by American Waterworks. They knew it was time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment, so they called our Appointment Center to schedule theirs. Our Appointment Specialist scheduled their appointment, and sent one of our Service Technicians, Darin, to the home. Darin arrived at the home and began his maintenance investigation. After Darin checked on our previous work, he noticed that the homeowner's sump pump was run down and there were signs of water seepage. Darin notified the homeowner of his discovery and provided them with a recommended plan. Knowing we do excellent work, the homeowner agreed with Darin's suggestions. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew. Once Kiko and his crew arrived at the home, they began by installing the WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is an award-winning, patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. After the WaterGuard was secured, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. The SuperSump+ is designed to keep basements dry and healthy for long periods of time. Basement Wall Gets Stabilized in Appleton, MN
Amanda, from Appleton, MN was beginning to notice that one of her basement walls was beginning to bow, showing signs of wall failure. She was concerned that a bowing wall could mean trouble for the structural integrity of the home. She did research about companies in the area that could service her home and came across our website. She decided to give us a call, and we set her up with our FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan P, headed out to the property to see what could be done. After he completed his walkthrough, he was able to recommend a solution to the problem. Ryan wanted to use our PowerBrace system to correct the failing wall. Ryan explained that this system is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to strengthen walls over time. He went on to say that this system can be tightened over time to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical.
Amanda agreed with Ryan's recommendations and work began a few weeks later. Our Foreman, Luis, and his crew ended up installing 5 of our PowerBraces throughout the basement of the home. Now Amanda can enjoy her basement without worries about her foundation being unstable.
