Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner decided to follow through with this plan. Once the plan received the stamp of approval, the crew prepped their materials and traveled to the home. Our Foreman, Lane, arrived at the home and began by prepping the home for waterproofing product installation. First, the crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the home. Additionally, the crew dug a feedline across the center of the basement floor. Next, the crew installed the SuperSump+ in the corner of the basement. After the SuperSump+ was installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowners were happy to know their home was no longer at risk of flooding. American Waterworks is happy to make another basement dry and safe again.

Next, our team installed our CleanSpace which prevents mold and humidity and serves as a protective blanket. To complete the work, our crew filled the open-floor gap with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over it, ensuring the space was neater and cleaner than when they found it.

Jackson informed the homeowner that he wanted to install a radon mitigation system. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. Before installing a radon mitigation system, the contractor will run a radon test to determine if radon abatement is necessary. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner agreed with Jackson's recommendations and scheduled the job for some time later.

In a couple of weeks, our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began the installation by installing a PVC pipe into the footing of the home. The pipe is then connected to the radon mitigation system which is installed outside of the home. Once the crew was done with the installation and they ensured everything was working properly, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
