Home Protected from Radon and Water In Waldorf, MN
Charles, a homeowner in Waldorf, MN needed guidance in solving his water and radon issues. After scheduling his FREE estimate, our Design Specialist Lance headed out to the property for an inspection. He explained radon is a hazardous, invisible, and odorless gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind cigarette smoking. Lance suggested having a new extraction point installed to depressurize the home. He explained that once the system was installed, it would work to pull Radon from the house, pipe it upwards through venting, and push it out and away from the home. Lance also walked Charles through our waterproofing WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor, but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog. Charles agreed with Ian's recommendation, and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Cameron, and his crew quickly and efficiently installed the system. First, our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Then, the SuperSump Plus. In addition, the plan was to add a discharge line to ensure the radon went up and out of the house.
Our team connected PVC piping from the sump pump to the ceiling and out of the home, where our team installed the system. The mitigation system is the heart of the system; if it isn't working properly, no radon can escape the home. Once they installed the system and its cover outside the home, they connected PVC piping from the system alongside the home until it reached the roof. The radon was able to escape the home quickly and efficiently. Charles was glad he got this taken care of, and his peace of mind was restored knowing he was breathing in safe air.

John of Conger, MN had water leaking through his bowing foundation walls and needed repair done right away. After seeing American Waterworks on channel 3 KIMT TV News, he called our office to schedule a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist went to his home to inspect the problems and come up with a solution. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard, which is an underground drain that collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our SuperSump Sump Pump which is designed to keep basements dry for long periods of time. Next, our crew applied our CleanSpace Wall System around the basement walls which is a plastic vapor barrier that prevents mold and humidity build-up and serves as an extra protectant. Lastly, Hugo and our team installed our GeoLock Wall Anchors to stabilize and straighten the walls back into their normal positions. Waterproofing System Installed in Madison Lake, MN
Pell J. in Madison Lake, MN had water leaking into his basement. He was concerned about the air quality in their home and the damage that the water was causing. He saw an advertisement in his local newspaper for American Waterworks, so he decided to call us for a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists went to his home to inspect his basement and design a solution. We recommended that he have our full waterproofing system installed in his basement to ensure that his basement would be permanently waterproofed. Pell liked the proposal that we presented to him, so he scheduled the installation.
Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Then, they laid the WaterGuard drainage system and installed the sump pump. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump, and from there the water is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home. The installation took our crew one full day, and Pell will now be able to enjoy a dry basement for many years to come. He is glad he chose to invest in the protection of his home.
