Outdated Sump Pump Gets an Upgrade in Owatonna, MN

An Owatonna, MN, homeowner was facing a unique issue with her home. Each time it rained, the homeowner's sump pump wouldn't turn on, regardless of the amount of water entering the space. This problem resulted in an even bigger problem: a flooded basement. The homeowner knew she couldn't head into a Minnesota winter with an outdated sump system, so he began searching for a basement specialist near him. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Brady S, headed out to the home.

Brady conducted a thorough inspection of the basement, and when he finished, he was ready to meet with the homeowner. Brady recommended several of our products but stressed the importance of updating the sump system. Brady recommended the installation of our TripleSafe Sump Pump. Brady explained that The TripleSafe is the most reliable sump pump in our lineup. It boasts three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, The TripleSafe offers a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller 1/3 horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water, or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller 1/2 horsepower pump, set a bit higher, in the liner will take over. The homeowner quickly agreed with Brady and scheduled the installation for several weeks later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Raul B, and his team effortlessly installed one of our TripleSafe sump pumps. Now, our customer can enjoy the rain without worries that it will wind up in her basement!

Radon Gas Eliminated from Owatonna, MN Home

A homeowner from Owatonna, MN, had heard of her friends and neighbors having their homes tested for radon gas. The homeowner knew very little about radon gas, but had heard it was not something to mess around with. She googled 'radon specialists near me' and quickly found American Waterworks. Impressed with our reviews and other jobs completed in the area, she decided to claim her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Brad W, headed out to the home.

When Brad arrived, he began his inspection, and when he finished, he met with the homeowner to go over his findings. Brad stated that he wanted to leave a charcoal radon test in the home, explaining that the test works to gauge radon levels in the home over 48 hours. When the 48 hours are up, the customer would have to mail the test to a lab to be tested. Brad went on to say that if the levels came back above 4 pCi/L, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider a radon mitigation systemA typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. The homeowner agreed with Brad's recommendations and the two decided to touch base after the radon test returned. A few weeks later, the radon results returned much higher than 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner called Brad and the two began the process of scheduling the project.

A month later, our Radon Foreman, Dakota, and his team headed out to the home to install the system. Now, our customer can breathe confidently in her home!

In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Romeo V., arrived at the home to assess the concrete. During the inspection, he noticed that the walkway and top of the driveway had begun sinking, causing the area to lean toward one side. To fix this issue, Romeo recommended lifting the concrete slabs with PolyLevel, our elite foam expanding solution, and using NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant to seal the joints. Not wanting to go through the process of mudjacking, the homeowner happily agreed to the recommendations and moved forward with the project.

In a couple of months, our Foreman, Ryan T., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew began by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs. Next, PolyLevel is injected beneath the slab and lifting it. Once it has been lifted and leveled, the crew seals the holes. Lastly, the crew applied NexusPro along the joints.
