Basement Waterproofing System Installed in Shakopee, MN

Roger and Patricia S. of Shakopee, MN were experiencing groundwater around all perimeters of their basement floor. They did some research on HomeAdvisor and found American Waterworks. They requested a FREE Estimate, so our Design Specialist went to their home to inspect the groundwater damage and drew up a solution. Roger and Patricia got all of their questions answered and were confident in the proposal of our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, so they moved forward with the project.

Our Foreman and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer. Our team formed a trench and installed our WaterGuard in the trench. Our WaterGuard does not only serve as an interior drainage system. It also prevents mud clogs and collects water seepage from basement walls. To complete the installation, our Foreman and his crew filled the open gaps with small rocks and applied a new layer of concrete over them. Roger and Patricia were satisfied with our work and were happy with the transformation!

Moldy Basement Fixed in Shakopee, MN

A Shakopee, MN, homeowner was down in the storage unit below his stairs when he noticed large spots of mold growth on the wall. Confused as to how it could have gotten there, he decided to find a mold removal specialist. Through his searching, he found American Waterworks. He realized his issue might be due to unwanted water intrusion, so he set up a FREE estimate to see if we could be of any help.

Several weeks later, Ryan P, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. After conducting his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform him that his suspicions were correct, the space was taking on water, making it the perfect atmosphere for mold growth. Ryan went on to say that we had several products that could help. First, Ryan recommended our WaterGuard drain, explaining that this unique French drain is installed below the floor but atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it clear of the 'mud zone', where similar drains clog. He elaborated, saying that this drain functions to collect water entering the space through holes and cracks in the floor, giving it a channel to flow freely to a disposal site, which in this case, was a pre-placed sump pump. His second recommendation was our Foamax wall panels. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulated panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. This innovative product offers several benefits such as high insulation value, creating a warm basement, brightening your space, being left exposed, and drains wall leaks to the WaterGuard system to keep the space dry and healthy. The homeowner was thrilled with Ryan's recommendations and, after some thought, signed on for the project.

Our Foreman, Lane S, arrived several weeks later. He and his team successfully installed 22 ft of WaterGuard and Foamax, restoring the customer's peace of mind in his mold-free space!

High Radon Levels in Shakopee, MN Mitigated

A homeowner in Shakopee, MN, recently found a social media post that discusses the dangerous health risks of radon. The homeowner learned that radon is a gas that is produced as the soil decays, which makes it completely unavoidable for homeowners. The difficult thing about radon is that we cannot smell, touch, see, hear, or taste it, making it undetectable unless using a radon testing kit. Concerned that his family was unknowingly breathing in the toxic fumes, the homeowner began searching for radon mitigation in the area and contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.

In about a week, our Design Specialist, Gary S., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. Gary began the inspection by playing our continuous radon monitoring test, which would be placed at the lowest level of the home. Gary explained that this test would need to run for at least 48 hours so that it can accurately detect the radon levels in the home. He also stated that even if the results were not at dangerous levels, it was always good to test the radon levels every 2-5 years. Alongside this, Gary noticed that the moisture levels in the basement were high and also recommended our Aprilaire Dehumidifier. In about a week, the test results were above 4pCi/L, and the homeowner contacted Gary to have our radon mitigation system and dehumidifier installed.

In a couple of weeks, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed a PVC pipe through the sump pump and connected it to the radon mitigation system, which would be installed outside of the home. In about a week, one of our Service Technicians arrived at the home to install the Aprilaire Dehumidifier.

Concrete Patio Lifted in Blooming Prairie, MN

A customer from Blooming Prairie, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice that his concrete patio was beginning to sink away from the siding of his home. He was afraid that if left untreated, the trip hazard would become more dangerous. When he called us, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a FREE estimate with one of our Design Specialists, Kevin. When Kevin arrived at the property, he assessed the damage, and when he finished he made his recommendations. He recommended the use of our PolyLevel injection to address the sinkage. He explained that our PolyLevel is an expanding polyurethane foam that gets injected beneath the problem slab to fill the gaps caused by soil erosion and raise and stabilize the concrete surface. Our customer agreed and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Troy, and his Co-Foreman, Cory, began the process by strategically drilling holes in the concrete slab. Next, they injected the foam into the holes while closely monitoring the lifting process to ensure no overcorrection was made. Once the job was complete, our customer was happy to know that he no longer needed to worry about uneven concrete while enjoying his patio!
