Damp Crawl Space Gets Encapsulated In Mapleton, ND
Sue, from Mapleton, ND, was growing more concerned over the state of her wet crawl space. If a a damp crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues can extend to all parts of the home. Sue wanted to understand why it was happening, make sure that the issue was corrected, and restore peace of mind moving forward. After deciding on our company, we set her up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how American Waterworks could help.
First, Ian recommended our drainage matting; a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the floor of the crawl space, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. Ian's second recommendation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that works to trap any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site. Our customer agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Jeremiah, and his team ended up installing 1938 sqft of the CleanSpace and a 4' tall Half Wall System in the crawl space. They also worked on installing two of our SmartDrains throughout the crawl space. Our SmartDrains are made specifically to track down water and keep it from invading the crawl space. Sue was very grateful for our team's work to restore her peace of mind so she can enjoy her home without worrying about water intrusion!

Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Ian, one of our Design Specialists. Ian made his way to the home and began the thorough inspection of the crawl space. Waterproofing Repairs in Fargo, ND
Water was leaking through the parking ramp of The Historic Union, which is an apartment building in Fargo, ND. Devon L., one of the managers of the apartment building, was worried about flooding and water moisture problems, so he wanted to get it repaired right away. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System around the wall perimeter, which prevents mold and humidity, covers any divots or holes, and gives the space a neat and clean appearance.

High Moisture Levels in Crawl Space Regulated in Fairmont, MN
A homeowner in Fairmont, MN, noticed that his home was taking longer than normal to heat the home and was unsure of the reason. He decided to look into it and learned that one of the issues that could be causing this is a poorly insulated crawl space. Realizing that his crawl space is not insulated, he contacted us to schedule his FREE crawl space estimate.
Our Design Specialist, Lance S., arrived at the home in a couple of weeks to assess the crawl space, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, Lance explained that one of the common causes of high moisture levels in a crawl space is dirt floors. Having a dirt floor in your crawl space means that your home is not separated from the earth, causing insects, pets, moisture, and mold to easily enter the home. For this reason, Lance recommended CleanSpace, our vapor wall barrier that prevents water from permeating through the floors and walls, Drainage Matting, which creates a drainage space and thermal break between the CleanSpace and ground, Foamax, our foam insulation panel that helps control crawl space humidity, and SmartDrain, a plumping system that alerts the homeowner if there is a leak. The homeowner happily agreed with Lance's suggestions, and his design was sent to our Foreman, Kiko P.
In a couple of months, Kiko and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed 884 sqft of CleanSpace, 768 sqft of Drainage Matting, 224 sqft of Foamax, and 1 SmartDrain. After they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
