Radon Mitigation System in Willmar, MN

Randy N., a resident of Willmar, MN, got his radon levels tested and the result came out to be 6.8 pCi/L. Our Design Specialist, Kevin, set him up with an installation date and walked him through a plan of our Radon Mitigation System. These systems are made to pull radon from within the home and release it outside through pipes.

Our crew of Dakota and Geno began the installation by drilling a hole into the basement concrete floor, creating a suction point. From there, our crew installed a PVC pipe from the whole, which created a vent for the radon gas. They connected the pipe to the radon fan outside of the home (which is the Mitigation System itself). The fan is the heart of the system. If it fails, the radon will remain in the home. From the fan, our team connected more PVC piping along the siding of the home until it reached open air above the roof. To complete the installation, Geno and Dakota performed a final walkthrough with Randy and ensured all of his questions were answered.

High Levels of Radon Mitigated in Mankato, MN

Anne L. and her husband in Mankato, MN had recently purchased a home and their realtor recommended that they have the home tested for radon before they move in. After learning that radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer for non-smokers and kills over 21,000 people each year, they started looking for a company to test their home, so they would not be putting their health at risk. Their realtor recommended using American Waterworks, so they gave us a call and we sent our one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to set up the test. 48 hours later, Jeremy came back to read the test results. He discovered that their house did in fact have high levels of radon. Jeremy recommended that they have our radon mitigation system installed as soon as possible and they agreed.

Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The post radon mitigation test showed a drastic reduction in radon gas, and they were relieved that their health would not be compromised. The installation only took one day to complete, and now they can rest easy knowing that their home is protected.

Radon Mitigation System Installed in Plato, MN

Louis G. of Plato, MN had radon levels of 15 pCi/L. The Evionrmental Protection Agency recommends that if your levels are above 4 pCi/L, you should get a Radon Mitigation System installed in your home so you are breathing healthy air. He worked with our Design Specialist, Jesse, to determine a plan of where to install the system. After a thorough meeting with Jesse, Louis signed his contract and got a date scheduled for the installation.

Our Foreman, Dakota, and his crew member installed our Radon Mitigation System from the utility room to the outside of the home, followed by the cover. The mitigation system is the heart of the system. If it isn't working properly, radon will not be able to escape the home. After the project was completed, Louis gave our crew a 10 and said they did a good job!

Radon Mitigation System Installed in Norwood Young America, MN

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has become the second leading cause of lung cancer. Naomi R. in Norwood Young America, MN learned that radon kills over 20,000 people each year and she realized that they had not had their home tested yet. Naomi had used us in the past to repair her foundation and had a pleasant experience, so she contacted us again to have her home tested for radon. One of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, went to her home to set up the radon test and give her a free estimate. The results showed that her home did in fact have high levels of radon, so Jeremy recommended that they have our radon mitigation system installed. Naomi was eager to have the system installed to protect their health and reduce their chances of getting lung cancer.

Our production team installed the radon mitigation system by inserting a PVC pipe through her sump pump which creates a suction point for the gas. The PVC pipe runs up the house and through the roof. There is a fan installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the gas is pushed out and away from the home. After each installation, we do a second radon test to ensure that the radon mitigation system is working properly and expelling the radon from the home. The second test reported that Naomi’s home now had significantly lower levels of radon. She is glad that her home is now protected from this harmful, radioactive gas, and that she took action to protect her and her family’s health.
