A Thief River Falls, MN, homeowner had been aware of several cracks in his foundation for some time now. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Dylan J, headed out to the home. He completed a full inspection of the foundation and then met with the homeowner. So when the pressure being exerted ends up being more than the wall can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see cracking, bowing, tilting in at the top, and/or sliding in at the bottom. Bill L. in Saint Ansgar, WI had a bowing wall in his basement, so he started looking into repair options. While researching foundation repair, he came across American Waterworks’ website. Our production team drilled small holes in the wall and inserted long metal rods. The metal rods extend through the wall and into the soil outside of the home. Then, the rod is secured with metal plates on each end. They tighten the anchors and the wall starts to straighten and stabilize. The anchors can be tightened over time so that the foundation wall gradually becomes straighter and straighter.
