The owner of this 120-year-old home had been there for about 20 years and noticed that the floors in her home were sagging and felt cold. A friend referred the homeowner to DBS after they had posted on Facebook looking for help with their issue.

Design Specialist James Miller went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the owner. After a thorough inspection, James educated the owner on our SmartJack® system that could permanently stabilize their home.

Foreman Raeshawn Pelfrey led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they installed the SmartJack® System underneath the home to properly support the flooring above.

Now that the home has been permanently stabilized, the homeowner can have peace of mind and not have to worry about their floors collapsing.

A homeowner in Neillsville, WI reached out to DBS looking for help with their damp and unsupported basement.  One of our Design Specialists went to the home to run a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough basement inspection, our Design Specialist provided the homeowner with a free no-obligation estimate.

This homeowner in Maple, WI was facing problems with wall stabilization and cracks in their basement. The wall had shifted from previous repair over a decade ago; unable to repair this problem on their own, the owner turned to DBS for a solution. 

Design Specialist James Miller assisted this homeowner in a free no-obligation estimate to find the right solution for this home. James suggested the installation of a GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System. 

Foreman Osia Williams led the installation along with a team. Together the team installed 3 Geolock™ Wall Anchors allowing for stabilization for the whole wall. This is done by connecting a steel rod to plates that are connected and located inside the home to an earth anchor that is installed in the soil outside of the home. This connection will allow for the system to be adjusted to stabilize and straighten out the wall. 

With this newly stable wall, this homeowner can live comfortably in their healthy home.

This home was being held up by concrete blocks on top of concrete blocks and shims were used in areas where more support was needed. When adding shims to foundation supports the only guarantee is that you'll need to add more shims when the foundation begins to sag again. This is painstaking and obviously not a permanent solution.

To provide our customer with a permanent solution in this scenario we used steel piers set deep into the earth on opposite sides of the home and welded a steel beam on top of them. The beam sitting on the firmly placed piers yields a permanently stable foundation. 

This is a small portion of an energy efficiency home improvement project where we replaced basement windows with energy efficient Everlast windows & sunhouse covers, a Bilco door, structural improvements, and spray foam along the rim joists. Our customers are often aware of the importance of having energy efficient doors and windows, but may often overlook the benefits of insulating the rim joist of their home. With spray foam insulation we provide a well-needed coating of insulation that has the added benefit of air sealing this section of the home.
