In North Andover, MA, a newly purchased home faced an issue with temporary support posts serving as floor supports, compromising the stability of its foundation. As seen in the initial photo, these posts risked long-term structural issues. Erickson Foundation Solutions resolved this by installing the SmartJack® System, creating a steady, reliable support base that elevated the floors to their proper level and mitigated unwanted floor movement. Additionally, our installation of a radon mitigation system markedly improved air safety by reducing radon levels from 12 pCi/L to below 4 pCi/L, ensuring a safe environment.

Before: This garage foundation wall was bowing outward due to excessive lateral soil pressure, resulting in visible cracking and compromised structural stability.

After: To permanently stabilize the wall, our team installed the GeoLock® Wall Anchor System. By accessing the area beneath the garage slab, we installed galvanized steel anchor rods and earth anchors embedded in stable, load-bearing soil. The system was tensioned to counteract inward wall movement, restoring stability to the foundation. Following installation, the excavation was backfilled and compacted, the garage floor was restored with new concrete, foundation cracks were repaired with mortar, and GeoLock® cover plates were installed to provide a clean, finished appearance.

The homeowner can now enjoy long-term foundation stability and renewed peace of mind.

A homeowner in Cambridge, Massachusetts lives near the train tracks and has a crack in their foundation that they would like to have repaired.
