This crawl space in Franklin, OH, had succumbed to prolonged moisture exposure. This had caused the fiberglass to become moldy and heavy, must smells to persist throughout the rest of the home, and rust to appear on parts of their plumbing and ducts. We encapsulated this crawl space with our patented CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal out ground moisture and outside air for good. This 20 mil thick vapor barrier is composed of antimicrobial material, and it is super durable and elastic. Now that the crawl space is clean and safe, the homeowners are free to store items down there as an added bonus!

This crawl space in Milford, OH, was struggling to keep out ground water, causing a multitude of problems like musty smells, poor insulation, wood damage, moisture damage, bug infestations, etc... We first waterproofed the space by wrapping the perimeter with drainage tile, and then we hooked up the drainage system up to a sump pump, (not pictured). After waterproofing, we then laid our drainage matting all across the floor, which contains dimples, to help preserve the vapor barrier that we installed over the top of the matting. Lastly, we wrapped the walls with our SilverGlo insulation and installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the space dry and well insulated. 

This crawl space renovation in Lebanon, OH, completed in December 2024, shows just how transformative a proper encapsulation can be. The original crawl space had only a thin layer of plastic on the floor, which wasn’t enough to keep out moisture. We began by installing a full waterproofing system, featuring underground perforated pipes, our SmartSump sump pump, and a battery backup for reliable protection. Next, we separated the crawl space from the earth with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, covering both the floor and walls. To maintain a healthy, dry environment year-round, we installed an automatic, energy-efficient dehumidification system. Finally, we upgraded their access with our air-tight Turtl door. This wet, gravel-floored crawl space in Morrow, OH, was giving the homeowners trouble by spreading musty smells throughout the upper levels of the home. We transformed the crawl space in one day by installing 1036 sq ft. of CleanSpace (vapor barrier) with drainage matting floors. We encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace liner, which is 20 mils thick and very flexible. The CleanSpace is antimicrobial, and won't grow mold. It will also help keep out moisture. We also installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in order to keep this treated space as dry as we want it to be. With an automatic sensor, this dehumidifier is capable of removing up to 100 pints of water out of the air in a day.
