Before:

An unfinished dirt floor crawl space with no insulation on the walls can result in cold floors in the winter and higher humidity in the summer. This condition could impact the structure of the home and more energy use to condition the air.

After:

Advanced Basement Systems installed their Clean Space encapsulation system to seal in the area away from the dirt. When spray foam insulation is added up the walls and into the header, the result will give the home owners warmer floors, lower energy bills and provide a much healthier home.

This dirt crawl space in Goderich, ON was in need of some help! Our team was able to encapsulate, insulate, dehumidify and clean up this space. It's now dry and clean, helping this entire home to be more healthy in the air its owners breathe.

We also installed DC315 thermal barrier over the spray foam, which gives the foam that bright white look. 

The owner called Advanced Basement Systems because his home had very cold floors in the winter and he was tired of cold feet. The house was built with a 3-foot crawl space that had a dirt floor and sporadic batt-insulation stuffed in between the floor joists. Overtime, the insulation had absorbed the moisture from the high humidity and become heavy, causing it to drop out of the space.

Advanced Basement Systems installed Clean Space Encapsulation to the prevent the moisture from the dirt floor entering the area. Spray foam was added to all the exterior walls from bottom up to the headers. The space is now sealed from the outside which will help lower the humidity from the earth and allow the HVAC system to keep it warm during the winter. The owner now has warm floors and a healthier living space above.

Problem: This crawl space needed new support columns, an encapsulation system and a new access. The floors were saggy and the crawl space itself was in awful condition.

Solution: Install new supports to hold up the floors in the home. Put a sump pump in to relieve hydrostatic pressure beneath the ground and install a Turtl (crawl space access- see Photo Gallery). We cleaned out all organic material and the old insulation and encapsulated with our 20mm Clean Space.
