Fiberglass Removal and New Cellulose - London, ON
We removed all the old fiberglass insulation. Why? It's not the correct insulation type, for a variety of reasons. Blown-in cellulose is the appropriate application. Along with that, the pipe and wire penetrations that come into the attic are not air-tight. We need to access all of these point to ensure heat loss is at a minimum! This insulation is also full of mouse droppings (mice love pink fiberglass).
Once the removal, air sealing and new baffles are completed, the new blown-in cellulose can be installed.
Beautiful work here by our crew for this London homeowner.
New Build Spray Foam - McGregor, ON
Before
The home owner built a new detached garage and wanted the entire structure insulated.
After
Advanced Basement Systems applied a 3”, 2lb closed-cell spray foam on the walls and attic decking to provide proper air/vapour barrier and high R-value insulation.
Call Advanced Basement Systems if you are planning a new build or retrofitting an older home to go over options we may provide.
Insulation Removal and Replaced - Windsor, ON
This is another attic that has fiberglass insulation in the joists. We know that this isn't an ideal product for the attic- not to mention mice love fiberglass insulation! After we removed the insulation, our team used closed-cell foam to seal top plate, wire and pipe penetrations to ensure minimal heat loss! Finally, we returned the following day to blow-in new 17" R60 cellulose insulation. We also added air sealing around the hatch access.
Great job Logan, Shane and Tyler in this home!
