Sinking Concrete Threatens Older Customer in Woodbridge, Ontario
As we get older, we have to take extra care to make sure our home is safe.
A customer in Woodbridge, Ontario, gave us a call after growing concerned with his concrete patio. He is an older gentleman, and a considerable tripping hazard had formed near his back steps. This was a dangerous tripping hazard year-round but was worse in the winter when water would pool and freeze.
Project Manager Joe McColl inspected the home, and a date was set for the repair. Foreman Kyle McKeown injected our PolyLevel® solution beneath the slab to lift the concrete back to an even grade, removing the tripping hazard.
The homeowner is thrilled with the work done. He thanks the entire CCL team and looks forward to using his back patio safely.
Concrete Patio Stabilized, Woodbridge , ON
A new homeowner had just purchased a house in Woodbridge, ON. After moving in, the homeowner noticed water pooling at the back of the house. It was coming from the concrete patio which was sinking towards the foundation. If left untreated, the homeowner was worried there would be significant damage to the house if the water started leaking through the foundation to the basement.
One of our Project Managers met with the homeowner to see exactly what was happening with the patio. He recommended our patented PolyLevel Injection System to lift and stabilize the concrete. Billy McKeown, Foreman, and installation team injected PolyLevel under the concrete slabs and leveled the patio within a few hours. The homeowner was happy to see the patio was level and that there would be no more pooling water – the foundation was safe and sound.
Corner Crisis, Woodbridge ON
This beautiful property in Woodbridge, Ontario, had a large concrete back patio where there had been major sinking spots along the edge of the home. The homeowners wanted to increase the property by conducting some renovations, starting with the basement. However, when getting their estimate for the renovations, the contractor realized a problem on the outside. The corner of the patio was sinking by three inches to the point that the foundation was exposed. On wet days, water would pool up in that corner which raised concern about the water leaking through the home's foundation and into the basement. The patio needed to be fixed before all the renovations were affected by water damage.
With some research, the homeowners discovered that Canadian Concrete Leveling could permanently level the concrete affordably without cutting into their renovation budget. Our Project Manager, Kyle O'Brien, arrived at the home to start inspecting the patio. He suggested that we lift the corner above the original height to create a slope where the water shoots away from the house rather than sitting on top of the slabs. Once the concrete's levelled, we will apply our NexusPro® sealant to the joints to protect them entirely from moisture. On a later day, our Installation Foreman went to the home and began leveling. He focused on the sinking points around the corner to fill any potential voids. It was time to lift the three inches to three and a half to create a slope. Next, our NexusPro® sealant was installed around the perimeter. The process was quick to complete, and the homeowners could resume renovations worry-free.
Etobicoke Hazard and Eyesore, ON
A home in Etobicoke, Ontario, had a walkway that sunk over time and was severely sloping towards the home. The customers were thinking of selling the home but the walkway was both an unsafe hazard and an eyesore. When is rains hard, the water runs towards the foundation, leaving the customer susceptible to a basement leak.
The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling, and spoke to John DiNicolantonio. He explained everything that would be done and then Billy McKeown came in and fixed the problem. He used our PolyLevel polyurethane System. It was injected beneath the concrete to lift and level the slabs and to protect them from further settlement.
The customer was extremely happy that we could complete the job in such a short time frame and that we could do so in such a cost effective manner. They were concerned that they would have to replace the the walkway and were very happy that we were able to work with what they already had to fix the problem.
Walkway Repair Leads to a Successful Driveway in Etobicoke, ON
In the world of home repairs, a lot can change when you start tearing things apart. What begins as one repair can quickly turn into a larger job. A customer in Etobicoke, Ontario, tore up his driveway to have a new one poured when a neighbour pointed out that his side walkway looked sloped. Upon inspection, he realized the entire path had tilted towards the foundation. He wanted the pathway repaired before his new driveway was installed, so he reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Our Project Manager inspected the walkway and explained how voids beneath the surface cause concrete slabs to sink. Then, he showed the customer a video explaining our PolyLevel® System, which uses expanding polyurethane to lift sinking concrete.
Our Production Department drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete to use as injection ports. Our 300-ft hose allows us to reach anywhere around a customer’s home without the use of heavy equipment. The customer was blown away with the entire process and service received from Canadian Concrete Leveling and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend us to friends and family.
