SmarkJacks installed in Tamassee, SC Crawlspace

Homes must be supported by something; usual homeowners believe that placing a cinder block under their floor joist will solve the problem. They are wrong. When placing a cinder block or bricks under a floor joist it doesn’t keep the home from sinking. The bricks will sink down into the ground as well, defeating the purpose. The best way to fix this problem is to use a permanent solution such as SmartJacks. SmartJack posts rest on a concrete pad that is precast for support. Since the SmartJack has the concrete foundation for itself, there isn’t a chance that it could sink into the ground under the pressure of the house.

In the before picture you can see that the floor joists are being supported by cinderblocks. In the after you can see that the cinderblocks have been replaced by SmartJacks that will help stabilized the home’s floors.

Push Pier and CleanSpace Installation in Salem, SC Crawlspace

Many of the projects that we work on aren't just a single problem, such as high humidity in a crawlspace or bowing walls in a basement. There are a lot of jobs that may have a few different problems that we can take of with different products and systems that we have. A great example of this is when there is a home with a sagging floor that needs SmartJacks, but also needs CleanSpace to help with the high humidity levels in the crawlspace.

This project was very similar to that example except the home needed push piers in order stabilize the foundation and CleanSpace liner to keep water and moisture out of the crawlspace. The first photo shows one of the areas that was cracking and where many of the push piers were installed. Here you can see one of our crew members working on the push piers!

The after photo shows the same area, but after the push piers had lifted and stabilized this area. The CleanSpace was laid out after the push pier work had been done in order to encapsulate the area. As you can see, the CleanSpace is laid out extremely tight against the wall of the crawlspace and is sealed extremely well. The CleanSpace liner does an excellent job at preventing moisture from getting into the crawlspace.

Push Piers used in Foundation Repair in Canton, NC

This customer had a huge problem. They were in desperate need of some kind of foundation support system to fix these huge cracks in their home. Our crew installed our FSI Push Pier System in order to fix these and it really did the trick!

The "before" picture shows a huge crack in the customer's garage. We see small cracks which can cause a problem, but we hardly see cracks that you can see through to the outside!

The "after" photo shows the same crack after we installed our Push Piers and sealed the crack. You can see just how big of a difference the push piers can make! The best things about our products are that they give each and every one of our customers peace of mind after they are installed! This goes for both preventative work and work after the problem has already arisen.

Cracks in Fair Play, SC Home Corrected with Installation of Push Piers

Foundation settlement is something that we see pretty regularly in our line of work. It usually is not a very pretty sight, but more often than not it is something that we are able to take care of! Foundation settlement occurs when the earth under and around the home begins to sink and settle in. As the earth settles, the foundation begins to sink with it as well which causes the wall to crack, which can be very dangerous, especially if not taken care of.

Unfortunately, this was the case for this homeowner in Fair Play, South Carolina. There were two main cracks that were noticeable along this wall, and believe it or not, this was actually the better of the two. The before photo does a pretty good job at showing the extensiveness of the damage caused by the settlement. This stair-step crack starts at the top of this cinder block wall and goes the majority of the way down.

The photo that was taken after the work was completed is pretty incredible, and shows just how effective our products are. The crack has been completely closed up by the push piers, and after the lifting was done, the crew went back over the crack with mortar in order to completely seal up the crack and make it seem as though no work was ever done! The homeowner was extremely pleased with how this turned out and couldn't believe the results.

Foundation Repair in Candler, NC

CarbonArmor Fabric is a product that we don't get to use that often, so when we do get to use it, we like to show it off! CarbonArmor is made up of carbon fibers that are woven together. Many people have heard of carbon-fiber before, but don't always know what it is or what it can do. Carbon fiber is an excellent product to use (especially for a job like this) because its immense strength but also because of its weight, or lack of it. Carbon fiber is 10 times as strong as steel, however, it is 5 times lighter.

The "before" photo shows what the basement looked like before the CarbonArmor Fabric was installed. While you are not able to see any visible bowing on this particular wall, you can see some stair-step cracks on the back wall. These cracks are almost always a sign of bowing walls or another type of foundation issue.

The "after" photo shows off the installed product, CarbonArmor Fabric. As you can see, there are four strips in this small section of the basement, over twenty were installed in total. While there is not that much of a visual difference between these two pictures, just having these 4 small strips will do this homeowner a world of good. Let's not forget about what was mentioned earlier, carbon fiber is 10 times stronger than steel. Would you rather have a small strip of carbon fiber or a steel beam that is much weaker?
