This homeowner in Staunton contacted Fortress Foundatin Solutions because they had some concerns about their foundation. There was a huge crack running along the outside brick.

Fortress solved this problem by installing fourteen Push Piers. Push Piers feature a patent-pending external sleeve that strengthens the pier at the critical tension point below the bracket. They are installed next to the footings and attached with a heavy duty steel bracket. Soil is backfilled around the piers once stabilization and lifting is complete to finish the installation. 

This home was recently purchased by a sweet couple who are fixing up this home for their daughter. They knew that there was a bowing wall that needed to be immediately addressed for the safety of the home. This basement in Weyers Cave, VA was experiencing water and mold in this home. This homeowners also noticed the wall in the basement was also starting to bow inward. Our System Designer was able to go out to this home and provide an estimate to determine a solution to this issue. The best solution to this problem was our PowerBraces and Water Guard system. Power Braces help to stabilize the wall and prevent it from collapsing more. Our Water Guard system includes a sump pump that allows water to exist the basement. This products work together to provide a permanent solution. 

This homeowner in Verona called Fortress because two of their basement walls were cracking and bowing. There were worried that the wall might collapse. Their basement was also extremely moist. This was causing the insulation to absorb water, grow mold, then fall because the water added too much weight for it to stay up. A Fortress System Designer went to asses this home and decided that the EverBrace Wall  Restoration System and PowerBrace Supports were the best option to prevent further damage. Fortress Started by removing all of the moldy insulation and boarding up the window. Then, Fortress installed a CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier and three PowerBraces along one wall. Next, Fortress installed the EverBrace System on the worst wall to make sure that it would no collapse. Fortress finished this job by installing a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to dry out the basement and prevent future mold from growing. Both the EverBrace System and the PowerBrace supports are zinc coated to resist corrosion and stay pristine. Both can easily be concealed by drywall if the homeowners want to finish the basement in the future. No one would ever know that there was once a crumbling wall there!
