A homeowner in Colchester, CT was experiencing issues with moisture accumulating alongside the perimeter of his basement. In need of a solution, he reached out to the experts at Connecticut Basement Systems for assistance.

Upon calling, the homeowner made contact with Sales Consultant Brian DiRisi. DiRisi listened attentively to the homeowner's concerns, suggested some ways of mitigating said problems, and scheduled a visit to the home for further evaluation.

Once a visit was scheduled, DiRisi measured the perimeter and took calculated notes to form a proposal tailored to the homeowner's issues. One of these solutions being WaterGuard, a French drain system that collects water running down the walls and along the foundation. Excess water collected by the WaterGuard system is funneled into our SuperSump sump pump [not pictured], then expelled in a safe location away from the house.

With approval from the homeowner, Foreman Moises Chantes and his team began work. Expertly removing the concrete along the perimeter allowed Chantes and his team to install the WaterGuard system, which was later covered with concrete for a seamless, non-invasive appearance.

This bright, white vapor barrier completely transforms a crawl space, while also working to reduce moisture and humidity within the crawl space. It also helps seal out cold drafts in the winter, and is suitable over walls and floors. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier, which is designed to provide many years of energy-efficient, trouble-free performance, even in tough crawl space conditions. SilverGlo rigid foam insulation was also installed. This rigid foam insulation shed water instead of soaking it up like cellulose and fiberglass insulation. The best part? Scheduling a free in-home consultation to better understand the issue, Citrin diagnosed the issues the homeowner's basement was experiencing.

With a completed proposal accepted by the homeowner Foreman Luis Alas and his team arrived on-site to begin work. A waterproofing system comprised of a WaterGuard French drain, TripleSafe sump pump, and CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed providing maximum protection against basement moisture. In an effort to fit the TripleSafe sump pump system, a new location was created near the old pump's area (see pictures for more insight). By accurately measuring these areas, DiRisi ensured the homeowner would be protected against further issues pertaining to moisture. 

With a finalized proposal concluded documenting all the work to be done, Foreman Delfino Mones and his team arrived on-site to begin the installation process. Following the installation, the homeowner was thrilled with the results and looks forward to her stress-free, waterproofed basement!

Before, this Stafford basement had constant water issues that would cause a wet and unpleasant area. The homeowner wanted a basement that would be pleasant and dry every time she entered. Searching for a permeant solution, she decided to call Connecticut Basement Systems. 

The solution for this Stafford basement was to install a WaterGuard System. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drainage system that collects water before it even the enters the basement. The water is then channeled through the WaterGuard system and into the TripleSafe sump pump, where the water will then exit the home through a discharge line. As seen in the after photo, the TripleSafe sump pump is installed and the wet cement is where the WaterGuard System was placed internally. Now, the homeowner can enjoy a dry basement all year long thanks to the WaterGuard System and TripleSafe sump pump.
