This Wayland, MI homeowner had been in talks with us regarding his foundation for 4 years. When he finally decided to pull the trigger and fix his sagging floors, he thought it was as good a time as any to do something about the irregular temperatures in his home, as well. He had previously had foam injection treatments, but they hadn’t solved the problem. However, thanks to those injections, the owner knew exactly where the problem was coming from and told the system design specialist that his crawl space was in dire need of an encapsulation. The white plastic in the after photo is part of the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. Impenetrable by moisture, CleanSpace will keep moist or cold air from entering the crawl space and subsequently rising into the home. It’s the perfect product to help better control crawl space temperatures. 

Cold drafts were lingering in Karen and Steve’s home so  they called our team and we insulated their rim joists. Around rim joists small cracks and seams can exist, but after insulating them all of those cracks are sealed off. Now airflow is restricted keeping outside air out and inside air in. They will no longer have to worry about their home being cold during the long winter months in Michigan.

The homeowners in Wayland MI, noticed that their floors were sagging. Sagging floors indicate a serious structural problem that will worsen over time. These conditions can make floors unsafe, while also causing unslightly cracks in wallboards and beneath baseboard molding. 

The best solution to adress sagging floors is to install SmartJack posts beneath the beam that supports your foundation. The SmartJacks allow the floor to be raised back to its original level over time. As an added bonus all SmartJack parts are protected from rust with a thick galvanized coating. 

Thanks to SmartJacks the homeowners floor is now well on its way to being fixed! 

Sindy called us saying that a corner of her house was falling down. She noticed cracks around the house and counters coming away from the wall. The wooden supports in her crawl space were old and not providing the strength and support that the home above needed. In their place, we were able to install a series of SmartJacks. These jacks are made from a zinc-coated steel making them incredibly strong and resistant to corrosion. They are also adjustable and provide the best opportunity to lift the home back into its original position. Sindy can now worry less about new cracks and start enjoying her home more.

Michael was hoping to finally put an end to the wall leaks that would seep into his home, damaging his precious belongings. Tired of this stressful issue he called Ayers to get a crew out to his home to discuss possible solutions. After the inspection our System Design Specialists concluded Michael needed our WaterGuard System and our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. 

First we installed WaterGuard which is a sub-floor drainage system that will collect any water leaking through the walls which is the exact problem he was dealing with. Specially engineered piping is placed around the perimeter of the basement on top of the footing of the foundation. The water will then be directed to the sump system. Concrete is poured over the system to conceal it. Since Michael didn't have a sump system we went ahead and installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This is a very efficient system as it consists of three pumps that fit in one durable liner and work together to keep water out. The first pump does the main job but the second is there for backup and the last pump is battery operated, meaning it will turn on during power outages.

With these waterproofing systems installed, Michael is now stress-free from these pesky wall leaks!
