Aaron's basement has a very small window in it that does not let in much light and he called us about an Egress Window. The window is large and has a well with steps for a safe exit in case of emergencies. Since the window is large in size, it also lets natural light into the area making it seem larger and cleaner.

Hannah was in serious need of a waterproofing system in her basement since she had no sump pump and water was leaking in, causing damage to her belongings. She knew that Ayers offers waterproofing solutions so she gave us a call. After a free inspection at her home our System Design Specialists recommended we install our WaterGuard System, our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, as well as IceGuard.

We started this process by installing WaterGuard which is a sub-floor drainage system that rests on top of the foundation footing and collects any water seeping in. Concrete will be poured over the system as well to conceal it. Then we installed TripleSafe since this is a three pump system that fits in one trusty liner and keeps water out of the basement. The first pump will do most of this job while the second will run if assistance is needed, and the final pump is battery-operated, meant for power outages. Last of all, we installed IceGuard for the exterior discharge lines to protect them from freezing or clogging in cold weather.

Hannah was glad she called professionals to permanently tackle these frustrating water leaks!

Scott panicked during the last power outage, worried about his ability to provide for his family without a working refrigerator and fresh food. He knew he must prepare for the next storm by installing a backup generator. After researching his options, he called Ayers for help. When this Grand Rapids, MI customer started to notice mold growing on his basement drywall, he knew he couldn’t wait any longer to patch up the leak. The crew went to his home armed with the FlexiSpan system. FlexiSpan is a two-layer waterproof sealant that won’t permit water to pass through or mold to grow. As you can see in the before photo, the water that leaked through would run down the wall and cause most of its damage at the foot of the wall. The darker portion of floor in the after photo is where concrete was poured after the team installed a drainage system to collect any leaking water. While the drainage system will dispose of water, it won’t stop the leak. But, the first layer of FlexiSpan will. Using the first layer of the sealant to plug the leak and the second for a drainage route, creates a system almost impenetrable by water. And on the off chance that water does make it through the seal, the drainage system will be there to carry it away. 

This commercial building was turned into a home consisting of a basement workspace however water was starting to leak in. We were able to help with a WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. In this finished space, some of the wood was removed from the wall to expose the framing. A small amount of the framing was cut out from the base of the wall to allow for concrete to be broken up.  WaterGuard could be placed right on the home's footing, stone could be filled in around it, and then the concrete replaced. Now the framing could be repaired, wood placed back on the wall, and cabinets put back in place. This was a lot of work and was a bit of an inconvenience I'm sure, but when building materials are being ruined and the homeowner is spending his time cleaning up moisture with a wet vac rather than working, it becomes totally worth it for that extra time, money, and peace of mind that you were missing before. This workspace is now safe from flooding.
