Installing WaterGuard in Mount Morris, MI, Home

Charlotte noticed the water was leaking into her basement from the seams of the floor. She was unsure where it came from or how to resolve the issue, so she researched her options online and called Ayers for assistance. We sent specialists to her house to evaluate the space and suggest a solution. They recommended and installed WaterGuard, an advanced drainage pipe system to reduce clogs. Drainage pipes often clog because they sit alongside the home's footing, while WaterGuard sits on top and bypasses the mud and rock layer. Charlotte feels more comfortable with her new system!

Waterproofing an Essexville MI Home

Ginger has a list of all the renovations and landscaping that she wants to do to her home. She figured it was best to start with some projects in her basement like waterproofing and adding an egress window. We installed an Egress Window for a safe exit in case of emergencies and to let natural light into the space. To waterproof we used the WaterGuard drain system to collect water that seeps into the basement and the SuperSump which is a great sump pump for basements that have occasional water issues. We added the battery back up system to the sump pump in case the home lost power or the system got unplugged accidentally. We also installed BrightWall Basement Panels to keep out water vapor, humidity, and mold growth.

FlexiSpan Protects Grand Blanc, MI Basement From Leaky Walls

Darlene was sick of dealing with leaking walls in her basement, it was time to get these cracks sealed so she called up Ayers. Our System Design Specialists inspected her basement and determined she needed our FlexiSpan solution. This is a great fix as this is a crack repair system that consists of a two-layer sealant that both plugs the crack and creates a drainage route that will be directed to below the wall. This will ensure the water doesn't leak and soak her belongings!

Grand Blanc, MI, Homeowner Increases Basement Safety with Egress Window

James knew his basement did not have a reliable and efficient exit in case of emergencies and decided it was time to fix the problem. After researching his options online, he decided to call Ayers for help. Our crew of experts stopped by his house to evaluate the space and provide a solution. They recommended the installation of an egress window to provide a safe and easy escape. Egress windows are designed with built-in stairsteps and a polycarbonate safety cover to prevent accidents. James feels much better about his family's safety!

Saving an Omer, MI Sump System from Iron Ochre

The open hole sump is pretty common in basements. The only problem - besides a passageway to the depths of the black lagoon in your house - is the hole leaves your system vulnerable. Vulnerable to flooding, clogging, and general basement destruction.  These problems are only amplified when your home is dealing with iron ochre issues, a rust-colored sludge that builds up inside of your pipes, as this Omer, MI homeowner could attest.

Iron ochre was coming through the pipes of his open hole sump and clogging up the entire discharge system. All Ayers crew members are familiar with iron ochre and know which type of products will be effective in the fight against sludge. First, the team went ahead and installed a WaterGuard IOS perimeter drainage system. This WaterGuard system was designed with large drainage holes to prevent clogging.  Our TripleSafe (as seen in the after photo) sump pump’s reliability also makes it extremely effective against iron ochre. The two backup pumps included in the system make sure that the sump is continuously working, even if the main pump becomes overwhelmed or shutdowns from power failure. Extra pumps equal extra discharge and to actually get that water out, the system needed an additional discharge line. Lastly, an airtight lid was placed on top of the triple safe sump liner. It may seem simple, but it does a lot to ensure the proficiency of the system. This way, debris can’t fall in to mess up the system, not to mention the lid almost looks like art compared to an open hole sump.

If you have questions about iron ochre or the best products to use against it, give us a call, and we'll send a specialist your way.
