A homeowner from Staples, MN was beginning to notice a musty odor originating from her crawl space beneath her home. After Ian completed his thorough inspection, he informed the homeowner that she was experiencing odors because of water damage in the crawl space. He told the homeowner that crawl spaces are notorious for taking on unwanted water, completely unannounced to homeowners because crawl spaces are so hard to access and maintain. Derek and Hailey of Dawson, MN had inward bowing walls and water leaking into their basement. They did some research on local contractors and came across American Waterworks. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the entire basement wall perimeter. The purpose of this is to prevent mold and humidity, save money on energy costs, and give the basement a bright appearance. Lastly, Jose and his team installed our PowerBraces around the wall perimeter over the CleanSpace. Our PowerBraces are designed to repair foundation walls over time and fix the inward bow. To complete the project, our crew covered the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them, ensuring the space was neat and clean.

Ron, from Eagle Bend, MN, was looking for some solutions for his late father's cabin space. The basement was experiencing water intrusion, and so he and his brother decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property. 

Following a thorough inspection, Kole gave his recommendations to Ron, suggesting that they invest in our WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor, but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog. 

Ron agreed, and our crew got to work.

First, Ou Foreman, Arturo, and his crew began implementing our WaterGuard System, which is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, its easy-to-access service ports, and its ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. 

The drainage system now properly guides water to the Super Sump Plus pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home. 

Finally, the team proceeded to install the CleanSpace wall System around the perimeter of the basement. Our CleanSpace Wall System is attached to the walls with plastic fasteners so it never falls.

After all was said and done, Ron was very glad he and his brother made the decision to call American Waterworks and had their peace of mind restored.
