High Radon Gas Levels Eliminated in Rochester, MN
A homeowner from Rochester, MN, was beginning the process of selling his home. Before he could confidently list his home, he knew there were several things he had to update or address. First, he was curious to see if his home had high radon levels. He knew his neighbor had recently had their home tested, so he decided to do the same. On the recommendation of a friend, he contacted American Waterworks and set up his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Michel R, headed to the home.
When Michel arrived, the first portion of his inspection was to place a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. Michel explained to the homeowner that the goal of this test was to record radon levels in the home over a 48-hour time period, after which time Michel would return to read the average results. Michel informed the homeowner that, should the levels come back higher than 4 pCi/L, he would strongly recommend the installation of a radon mitigation system. Michel explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He went on to say that, when installed by a professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA. The homeowner was very impressed with Michel's approach but decided to wait until her radon results returned. When the 48 hours were up, Michel arrived back at the home to read the results, which returned much higher than 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner and Michel sat down and found a day for the system to be installed.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Geno M, and his team were able to successfully install the system. Now, our customer can confidently list his home for sale, knowing the new homeowners would be thankful for clean air!
Basement Waterproofed and Stabilized in Rochester, MN
A homeowner in Rochester, MN, knew it was time to repair their crumbling walls. Unsure why it was crumbling, the homeowner began looking into "wall systems for basements". After looking through several companies, only one caught their attention, American Waterworks. Once the homeowner took a closer look at our foundation repair products, they knew we were the ideal company for their project. The homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate, and we sent Ian to take a closer look. During the inspection, Ian confirmed the foundation needed to be permanently stabilized and recommended waterproofing the basement. The homeowner agreed, then they worked with Ian to schedule an installation date. Once the installation date came, our Foreman, Luis, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Luis and his crew installed WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew installed seven Push Piers and two SmartJacks in the basement. Finally, the crew finished by installing CleanSpace on the unfinished basement wall. Once all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. American Waterworks is happy to provide its homeowners peace of mind knowing their basement is secure.
Wet Leaking Basement in Rochester, MN Waterproofed
A homeowner in Rochester, MN, was experiencing wet basement issues and noticed signs such as standing water, leaking walls, musty smells, and mold growth. After realizing that the problem would not improve over time, the homeowner began searching for basement waterproofing companies in Rochester, MN. The homeowner found us and contacted our Appointment Center to schedule her FREE estimate.
In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Michel R., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions, and create the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, Michel confirmed that one of the likely reasons the homeowner is facing a wet basement is due to a poor drainage system. For this reason, Michel recommended installing WaterGuard, our elite drainage system that collects water at the perimeter of the basement and sends it to the sump pump, TrenchDrain, similar to WaterGuard but along the entryway, CleanSpace, our vapor wall barrier that prevents water vapor from permeating the walls, SuperSump+, our sump pump system that is capable of removing 2,200 gallons of water per hour, and IceGuard, our anti-freeze discharge line that allows water to escape in sub-zero temperatures. After looking over Michel's recommendations, the homeowner happily agreed and decided to move forward with the project.
In about a month, our Foreman, Jeromy A., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew installed 118ft of WaterGuard and CleanSpace, 3ft of TrenchDrain, 1 SuperSump+, and 1 IceGuard. Once they were done with the installation, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Leaky Basement Transformed in Rochester, MN
April H. in Rochester, MN had water leaking into her basement and she was concerned about the damage it was causing to her home and the potential health implications it could cause. She contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so one of our Design Specialists, Mac Cole went to her home to inspect her basement and design the right solution. April was pleased with the proposal and was eager to have the waterproofing system installed, so she scheduled the installation.
Our Foreman, Austin Lucas, and his crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the room and a TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. Our TripleSafe is backed by three layers of protection and is our most reliable sump pump.
