Dangerous Radon Levels Finds Solution in Fifty Lakes, MN

In Fifty Lakes, MN, a homeowner came upon an article that discusses the dangers radon poses in homes. Through the article, he learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As uranium decays, it produces radium, which eventually turns into radon gas. Since uranium is in soil, it makes radon unavoidable. Worried that his family was breathing in the toxic fumes, he decided to look into services in the area. He came upon our website and was pleased to see our Before and After photos of our radon mitigation system. He quickly contacted us to claim his FREE estimate and scheduled an appointment with our Design Specialist.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home to start the radon monitoring test. He set this test up in the lowest level of the home and explained to the homeowner that the test would need to run for at least 48 hours. James reassured the homeowner that his decision to have the home tested was good as we cannot see, touch, smell, taste, or hear radon. He further explained that we offer a radon mitigation system that uses a large-diameter plastic pipe that suctions out the air beneath your foundation and vents it outdoors. The homeowner was thankful for James's permanent solution to prevent dangerous radon levels in the future.

In about a week, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, which is the Environmental Protection Agency's required action level for radon. The homeowner contacted us to schedule the installment of our radon mitigation system.

In a couple of weeks, our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P., arrived at the home for the installation. When he finished installing the system, the homeowner was relieved he no longer had to worry about breathing in the toxic fumes.

Leaking Basement in Protivin, IA

Allen M. of Protivin, IA had water leaking in his basement so he called American Waterworks to set up a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist, Brian Ramirez, went to his home to inspect the problem and come up with a solution.

Our Foreman, Cole Brinkman, and his production team broke out the concrete perimeter of the basement floor to form a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System which is designed to collect wall seepage and serve as an "underground drain." Our crew filled the open gaps with rock and replaced the existing concrete. Allen was grateful we were able to save the life of his basement!

Goodhue, MN, Weeping Walls Repaired

A homeowner in Goodhue, MN, knew it was finally time to complete their basement renovations. Knowing this would be a large task, the homeowner wanted to start by ensuring it was properly waterproofed. The homeowner wanted to complete the job the right way, so they began looking into "basement waterproofing near me". One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Once they saw our eye-catching before and afters, the homeowner knew we were the ideal company for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Adam. The following week, Adam traveled to the home to begin the thorough inspection. During his evaluation, Adam noticed the north corner was suffering from the most water intrusion. To prevent this issue from worsening, Adam recommended waterproofing that corner of the basement. The homeowner agreed with Adam's proposal, then the project was sent to our Logistics team to give the final stamp of approval. Once the plans were approved, they were assigned to our Foreman, Lane, and his crew. A few weeks later, Lane and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First, Lane and his crew started by installing WaterGuard, a perimeter French drain system, along the north corner. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+, one of our elite sump pump systems. After all the products were secured, Lane and his crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the results completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to provide its homeowners with peace of mind.

Windows Replaced in Maynard, IA

Cheryl M. of Maynard, IA had a single-paneled, steel-framed window in her basement that was starting to rot. Our Service Technician, Darin, was out at her house for annual maintenance on her sump pump system. He noticed that her window was musty and flaky, so he proposed our EverLast Replacement Basement Windows. Cheryl got all of her questions answered about the product, so she signed Darin's proposal.

Water Leaking into Lake Elmo, MN Basement

Anne in Lake Elmo, MN had water seeping through her basement walls. She contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent one of our experts to her home to inspect her basement and design a solution. She was pleased with our proposal, so she set a date to have our waterproofing system  installed.

Our production team installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system in her basement and connected it to a SuperSump sump pump. The drainage system now properly guides any water seeping in to the sump pump. From there, the pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home. Anne now has a dry basement and she is glad she invested in protecting her basement from water for the long term.
