Dangerous Radon Levels Finds Solution in Fifty Lakes, MN

In Fifty Lakes, MN, a homeowner came upon an article that discusses the dangers radon poses in homes. Through the article, he learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As uranium decays, it produces radium, which eventually turns into radon gas. Since uranium is in soil, it makes radon unavoidable. Worried that his family was breathing in the toxic fumes, he decided to look into services in the area. He came upon our website and was pleased to see our Before and After photos of our radon mitigation system. He quickly contacted us to claim his FREE estimate and scheduled an appointment with our Design Specialist.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home to start the radon monitoring test. He set this test up in the lowest level of the home and explained to the homeowner that the test would need to run for at least 48 hours. James reassured the homeowner that his decision to have the home tested was good as we cannot see, touch, smell, taste, or hear radon. He further explained that we offer a radon mitigation system that uses a large-diameter plastic pipe that suctions out the air beneath your foundation and vents it outdoors. The homeowner was thankful for James's permanent solution to prevent dangerous radon levels in the future.

In about a week, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, which is the Environmental Protection Agency's required action level for radon. The homeowner contacted us to schedule the installment of our radon mitigation system.

In a couple of weeks, our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P., arrived at the home for the installation. When he finished installing the system, the homeowner was relieved he no longer had to worry about breathing in the toxic fumes.

Crawl Space Before and After Transformation in Protivin, IA

A homeowner in Protivin, IA, received a reminder that it was time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment. The homeowner contacted our Service team and worked to find the best date for their annual maintenance appointment. When the appointment date arrived, we sent one of our Service Technicians, Clay, to the home to begin the appointment. Once Clay arrived, he began the inspection of the installed products. While he was completing the inspection, Clay noticed their crawl space was not properly encapsulated. Clay completed the inspection, then met with the homeowner to share his findings. He recommended fully encapsulating the crawl space, and the homeowner agreed. Next, Clay worked with the homeowner to schedule the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Jeromy, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Jeromy and his crew started by laying Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. Once the Drainage Matting was secured, the crew shifted to laying CleanSpace on top of the Drainage Matting and on the walls. Finally, the crew cleaned up their matierals and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is glad to keep providing solutions for its homeowners.
