A customer from Lansing, IA got in contact with us when they began to fear that their home may be inhibited by Radon, a colorless, odorless, naturally occurring gas that comes from the breakdown and decay of the soil that surrounds the foundation of the home. When our customer called in, we set them up with a FREE no-obligation estimate. Our Design Specialist, Jarrett, headed out to the property to see what could be done. He began by performing a 48-hour charcoal test, which he left behind to monitor the levels of Radon in the home. Once completed, the home was found to have unsafe levels of Radon. Jarrett recommended the installation of a Radon mitigation system and the couple agreed.

Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, started the installation process by drilling a hole in the slab foundation of the home and connected a PVC pipe. The radon gas is drawn upward, and the pipe guides it to the fan. The fan draws and vents radon safely above and away from the home.

A homeowner in Maple Grove, MN, noticed that the front steps of his porch had begun sinking and was concerned for its stability. Because the issue is at the entrance of his home, he decided to fix the problem immediately by searching for concrete lifting in the area. When it rains and floods, water moves through the ground and washes away supporting soils beneath the concrete slab. As this continues, it causes gaps in the soil, and the slab would begin to sink. To fix this issue, Kyle recommended PolyLevel, our waterproof foam expanding formula that is injected beneath the settled slabs and accurately lifts them, and NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant that provides flexibility and high durability so it will not crack or break to seal the joints. After reviewing Kyle's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and decided to move forward with the project. 

In about a month, our Foreman, Patrick B., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by lifting the step slab to remove the gap beneath the step. Alongside this, they also lifted a row of the back porch. Lastly, the crew used NexusPro to seal the joints between the step and step slab as well as the back porch. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
