Sunken Patio Gets a Solution in Saint Paul, MN

A homeowner from Saint Paul, MN, was in the process of upgrading his outdoor patio. One obstacle in the way of the revamp was the patio itself. The concrete patio had been slowly sinking for a few years now, and the homeowner was ready to update the space, meaning the concrete would need work. During his search for a company that could help, he found the American Waterworks website. He decided to take advantage of our FREE estimates, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist headed out to the home.

After our Design Specialist finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to give him our recommendations. Our Design Specialist explained that we could lift the sunken patio using our PolyLevel method. Our PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath concrete slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting the concrete back into place. He went on to say that we finished our concrete lifts by installing our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro works to keep unwanted debris and moisture away from the slab. The homeowner agreed with the recommendations and the work was scheduled to be completed a few weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Sam K, and his team made quick work of the lift. Now our customer can enjoy their outdoor oasis without worrying about sunken concrete!

Sunken Walkway Leveled in Apple Valley, MN

A homeowner in Apple Valley, MN, was concerned that her uneven walkway was a tripping hazard for her family, so she decided to look into concrete lifting services in the area. She found our website and was impressed with our before and after photos. Confident that we would do the job correctly and efficiently, she decided to schedule her FREE estimate.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Kyle P., arrived at the home and inspected the walkway. Kyle also noticed that the homeowner's driveway apron was uneven, so he told the homeowner that both issues could be fixed using our PolyLevel to lift the concrete and NexusPro to seal the joints. He also explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of a sinking concrete is soil washout. When it heavily rains or floods, the water moves through the ground beneath the concrete slabs. The water then washes out the supporting soils, eventually leading to gaps underneath the slab. The homeowner was grateful for Kyle's explanation and decided to move forward with the project. Kyle's design was then sent to our Foreman, Ryan T.

In about a week, Ryan and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs. Injection ports are then installed, and PolyLevel is injected beneath the concrete slab. Once the slab has been lifted, the crew makes sure that it is level before sealing the holes with concrete. Lastly, the crew seals the joints with our long-lasting, high-durability NexusPro. After everything was completed, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

A few weeks later, Dave arrived at the home and started the thorough inspection of the exterior concrete. During the inspection, Dave noted that several slabs were sinking due to settlement. To stop the settlement from continuing, Dave recommended lifting and leveling the sidewalk back into place. Knowing this was their best plan of action, the manager decided to go ahead with the recommended solution. Next, Dave sent the solution to our Logisitics team to give the final stamp of approval. Once the plans were given the green light, our Logisitics team assigned the project to our Foreman, Troy. A few weeks later, Tory and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Troy and his crew began by inserting PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution, underneath the sinking slabs. Once all the slabs were lifted back to their original level, the crew shifted to inserting NexusPro in the cracks and joints of the sidewalk. NexusPro is a silicone-based solution that can withstand harsh weather conditions. Once all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home.
