Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his crew installed 6 PowerBraces along the bowing wall. The PowerBrace is an adjustable beam that stabilizes bowing walls and forces them back into their original position. PowerBraces are sometimes used instead of wall anchors because wall anchors require access to the soil outside and would cause us to cross a property line if that product was installed. The beams are covered with a zinc-coating, so that the beams will not rust or deteriorate over time. Jacqueline was glad that the process was not very disruptive and that they barely take up any space in her basement. It supports the failing structure and can also often lift failing floor joists, restoring them to their original position. To complete the work, our crew filled the holes with soil and replaced the dirt, leaving the home better than the way they found it.
