Failing Garage Wall Gets Fixed in Battle Lake, MN
A Battle Lake, MN, homeowner got in touch with us due to a wall bowing inward in their garage. The homeowner used the area for personal projects but wanted to address the foundation before fully customizing the space. While searching for a MN foundation repair company, he found our website and signed up for his FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Kole L, headed out to the home.
Once Kole finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver his results. Kole explained that when foundation walls begin to buckle, bow or tilt inward, homeowners are correct to be alarmed. Outside pressure from soil and water can cause foundation walls to collapse. Kole recommended the use of our PowerBrace system. The PowerBrace™ is a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace™ System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The homeowner agreed with Kole's recommendations and scheduled the job for a few months later.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Aaron R, and his team installed 16 of our PowerBrace's throughout the garage. Now, our customer can fully enjoy his space without worries of a compromised foundation!

Concerned by this discovery, the homeowner wanted to solve the issue before it progressed. The homeowner was doing research into the many companies in the area and noticed our five-star reviews. Impressed by our customer's kind words, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate on our website. Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists. As soon as the Design Specialist arrived, he began his analysis of the home's foundation. After completing the detailed inspection, the Design Specialist determined that the foundation walls were caving into the home due to hydrostatic pressure. After finding the cause, the Design Specialist recommended permanently stabilizing the foundation walls. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed with the Design Specialists recommendations, and the plans were sent to the assigned crew. Our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the foundation repair. First, the crew started by excavating the failing wall in the basement. Next, the crew installed 18 PowerBraces along the entire west wall, and sections of the west and east wall. Once all the PowerBraces were put into place, the crew installed the SentrySeal Waterproofing Membrane around the exterior foundation. The crew cleaned up their job site and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know their basement was no longer at risk of wall failure. American Waterworks is happy to provide another homeowner peace of mind.
