Shannon G. in Oronoco, MN had a large crack in the foundation wall on the back of his garage. He knew that he would be taking a large risk if he chose to wait to repair his foundation, because it could fail at any time, and become a much larger expense. He started researching foundation repair companies when he saw an advertisement for American Waterworks. He decided to call us for a FREE estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to his home to inspect his foundation problem and find a solution. Rick talked him through his options and he developed a plan that was the most beneficial for him. After meeting with Rick and getting his questions and concerns addressed, Shannon felt that we were the best fit for him, so he scheduled a date for the installation.

Our crew installed 4 wall anchors from the outside of his garage into the soil underneath the concrete in the garage. They drilled long rods through the brick until they hit supportive soil. They removed the concrete in the garage where they would need to put on the plates for the anchors. They installed the plates on either end of the rod and tightened the anchors. Lastly, they replaced the concrete and cleaned up their work area. The anchors secure and stabilize the wall. They continue to straighten the walls and can be tightened over time as the wall gradually moves back into place. Lori B. in Rochester, MN contacted American Waterworks after realizing that the foundation of her home was failing. Using wall anchors, our production crew drilled small holes through the failing block foundation and into the soil surrounding the home. In order to straighten the wall, they had to dig out the soil pushing against the foundation. They secured each end of the metal rods with anchor plates and tightened them as far as they would go. This process gradually straightened the foundation wall, and permanently secured it. Having wall anchors installed saved this foundation from failing altogether and saved the homeowner from the expenses of a full foundation replacement.

Our Foreman, Arturo, and his crew installed the series of straps across the foundation walls to halt further movement and cracks. CarbonArmor® straps are a quick, affordable way to stabilize block and poured concrete walls that have cracked and that are showing signs of bowing. And because the straps don’t protrude from the wall, the repair can be easily covered with mortar, paint, or light wall panels.
