Giving a 1950s Walkway New Life in East York

This East York project involved original 1950s concrete slabs located in the narrow walkway between two houses. Over the decades, natural soil settlement caused the slabs to sink by 3 to 4 inches, creating a steep slope that directed water toward the side of the home. Correcting the grade was an important priority for the homeowner, helping improve drainage and protect the long-term integrity of the structure.

Our team used our high-density PolyLevel® injection system to carefully and precisely lift the existing concrete. Structural-grade polymer was injected through small, non-invasive holes, where it expanded to fill hidden voids and stabilize the underlying soil. This controlled process allowed us to return the slabs to a proper grade, directing water safely away from the home.

To complete the project, we cleaned and sealed the joints using our premium crack and joint sealant, providing added protection against future water infiltration. The result was a safe, level, and fully stabilized walkway that was back in service the very same day — all while preserving the original concrete and minimizing disruption to the property.

Leveling & Sealing for Safety and Longevity

Years of soil settlement caused this exterior slab to sink, creating a trip hazard and directing water toward the foundation.

We lifted the slab using structural-grade polyurethane and sealed all cracks to prevent future water damage.

The Result? The slab is now safe, level, and blends seamlessly with the surrounding concrete. This repair not only eliminates the trip hazard but also protects the foundation from water damage, showing that a full replacement isn’t always necessary.

Poolside Concrete Repair & Leveling in Ajax, Ontario

This upscale Ajax backyard was showing signs of concrete settlement, particularly where the patio met the pool coping. Over time, the heavy slabs had dropped unevenly, creating unsightly gaps and a dangerous trip hazard right at the water’s edge. For homeowners who love barefoot summers by the pool, this was more than an eyesore—it was a serious safety concern.

Rather than resorting to a noisy, messy, and costly poolside concrete replacement, we provided a fast, precise, and minimally invasive solution. Using advanced concrete lifting and leveling techniques, we corrected the settlement from beneath, restoring a smooth, level surface in just one afternoon. This approach not only eliminated the trip hazards but also reinforced the subgrade for long-term durability, giving the homeowners peace of mind and a backyard ready for years of use.

The transformation was immediate. By realigning the concrete with the pool coping, closing hazardous gaps, and stabilizing the slabs, we delivered a safe, level, and visually appealing poolside without the dust, debris, or extended downtime of a new pour. Now, this Ajax backyard is fully refreshed and ready for worry-free summer fun, combining safety, style, and functionality in one beautiful package.
