Sinking Concrete Nightmare

Our client was dealing with a sloped bottom step on their porch and an inch-tall threshold between the driveway and the garage. Unfortunately, the driveway started to descend on the top right sector, resulting in the threshold being more noticeable on the one side than on the left. With wet weather being applied, puddles on the concrete create an icy patch making it challenging to enter and leave the driveway.

Paul Mendell assisted the kind clients with a plan on how he would get the job done. Polylevel® is a permanent injection fix with little to no disruption of the existing concrete. Installation foreman, Bill McKeown, started with small injections just a foot before the problematic point, allowing the void underneath to be filled and the concrete to lift to the desired height. The polymer is lightweight compared to the standard concrete filler and takes a fraction of the time to cure so that our client can use the driveway and walkway almost immediately!

Trip Hazard Removal by PolyLevel® Injection in Hanover, ON

These homeowners had a very dangerous trip hazard around their home and were concerned about the safety of their family and friends.

Once they made the right decision to fix it, they called Canadian Concrete Leveling to repair the job.

Project Manager, Paul Mendell, inspected the home and established that PolyLevel® would be needed to lift and level the concrete to get rid of the trip hazard.

Once the plan was in place, Installation Foreman, Bill McKeown, and his production team went to the home to execute the job.

Now, the homeowners are relieved to have a safe place for their family and friends.

Leveling Out a Settled Driveway in Listowel, ON

This beautiful home in Listowel, Ontario, had a problematic driveway made of large concrete slabs. The driveway had settled to the point that it started to reveal problems:

  1. The garage threshold had a lip from the sinking at the front, making it slightly challenging for the homeowners to drive in and out.
  2. The concrete around the porch's base had also settled, exposing the home's foundation.
  3. The concrete slabs running along the driveway sinking at different heights, creating many trip hazards.

Our Project Manager arrived at the home to start his free inspection and provide a quote to the homeowners. He checked the base of the porch, the lip of the garage threshold, and a few of the concrete slabs running on the driveway. The homeowners were relieved they found a solution for their sinking concrete. How do we level the concrete, you ask? We use our PolyLevel® polyurethane injections to fill in the voids under the concrete and lift it back to its original height. The crew worked so efficiently that the homeowners were amazed with the entire process. The work took less than an hour, and the clean-up was immaculate. As a result, this driveway is safe again and is as level as the day it was originally installed.

PolyLevel® Injections for Garage, Wellesley, ON

A home in Wellesley, Ontario, had a couple of sinking spots. One being the garage threshold and another being the doorsill on the side entryway. The concrete driveway started sinking, causing a lip just before entering the garage. The lip made it challenging for the homeowners to drive in and out of the garage. Going in caused thecae to stop, and once more gas was given, the car would then jolt forward out of control into the garage. Leaving would cause the vehicle to increase speed out of the garage, which can be difficult in winter. Moving to the side entrance, the concrete just outside the doorsill had lowered, leaving a larger step coming into the garage and a tripping hazard for the darker hours of the day. Coming out of the garage is just the same, not necessarily a tripping hazard, but a bigger step-down, which can cause imbalance.

Canadian Concrete Leveling was called to fix the solution at a costly rate permanently and not have to replace the whole driveway or side walkway. Our Project Manager Andy Moncrieff came to the home to see what needed to be done. He wanted to use our PolyLevel high-density polyurethane at the lowest points to lift the concrete to its original position. The following day, our Installation Specialist Kyle McKeown proceeded with the PolyLevel®, which only took under fifteen minutes to set up, inject the polyurethane, cure, and clean up, making the homeowners happy with the overall service.

Garage Threshold Became a Problem, Wellesley, ON

In Wellesley, Ontario, a pair of homeowners had a garage threshold that became a tripping hazard and a nuisance to drive over. The driveway had started to sink, making the garage entry stand out by a few inches. During wet days, water would pool up, and a mini-ice patch would form as temperatures dropped. A solution was essential before the colder months came around. Without replacing the top half of the great conditioned driveway, the homeowners reached out to our team at Canadian Concrete Leveling. Our Project Manager, Tim Rector, made an appearance to show what solution he has in play. The approach was to inject the sinking portions of the driveway with our PolyLevel® system. This system uses a high-density polyurethane that doubles in size once it solidifies, which helps fill all the voids underneath the concrete and promotes lifting. PolyLevel® is an efficient yet minimally invasive solution compared to others. After Tim made the schematics, our installation duo got the go-ahead to begin leveling on a later date that worked best for the homeowners. Our Installation Supervisor, Kyle McKeown, and Installation Specialist, Nestor Cabrera worked meticulously to level the driveway and eliminate the bothersome threshold. These are the results:
