Chapin, SC Crawlspace in Need of CleanSpace Encapsulation

Not all crawlspaces are in desperate need of a vapor barrier or encapsulation system, but this doesn't mean that they aren't useful. One of the most useful parts of CleanSpace (besides water and moisture control) is that it makes your crawlspace into a clean, more usable area. After everything is sealed off, the area is much cleaner and can be used for storage.

The "before" photo of this crawlspace in Chapin, SC shows how the area looked before our installation. Since this was an older home, the insulation had began to fall slightly. The main concern is the floor, with an old crawlspace liner and debris. While this looks like the typical crawlspace you may see under most homes, CleanSpace can completely transform the look of it.

The "after" picture shows the same area but after the CleanSpace was installed by our crew. The CleanSpace completely transforms the look of the crawlspace. The area went from a dark, scary place into a clean, usable area. One of the great things about having our CleanSpace installed is that it creates a clean area for storage!

Lexington, SC Crawlspace Saved by the CleanSpace

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a million times: CleanSpace saves a crawlspace. Let’s take these photos here into account. There’s obvious debris and dirt in the first picture. The debris can be easily removed, but that dirt won’t be going anywhere for a long time. In addition to adding to the moisture problem, the dirt floor is unsightly and any standing water in the crawlspace will only heighten the humidity issue. Even if there are no floods or freak storms to dampen your crawlspace, water will make its way in through the use of the air and the ground. Yes, even the ground.  The best way we handle that issue is to put down some of our patented CleanSpace.

CleanSpace, pictured here in the “After” photo, is a 20 mils thick liner reinforced with polyester cords. It’s extremely durable and nearly impossible to rip or tear accidentally. Not only that, but it takes away that uninhabitable look most dirt crawlspaces have. It’s easy to clean and keeps clean relatively easy. This Lexington, SC homeowner learned that pretty quickly and are now a bit more inclined to make the journey down there. When we take a look at the difference between the two photos, we can, without a doubt, understand why.

Creepy Crawlspace in Lexington, SC is Covered in CleanSpace

There’s something particularly eerie about a dirt crawlspace. In particular, there was something eerie about this Lexington, South Carolina crawlspace. The dirt in addition to the scattered debris, it all really sets the scene for a scary movie. Most people, I’m guessing, don’t look for that factor in a crawlspace. Most people don’t want that space to scare them. However, there’s something truly frightening about a crawlspace like this one. It is that exposed dirt floor. That is what is truly awful.

Can’t see it? Let me explain.

Observe the “before” photo. Along the walls are whitish areas were water has come and gone. We know it has been there because the water left behind a stain of evidence. The walls are made from concrete block, and they are porous. That’s true. However, the floors are not blameless. The dirt floors allow in bugs and water vapor. The water vapor increases the moisture and the humidity within the space. The bugs make crawling into the crawlspace even less savory than it was.

This issue is resolved in the “after” photo. Our patented CleanSpace liner is installed in sealed on the walls and floor. The liner acts as a protective barrier against all sort so intruders—water or otherwise.
