Before:
In Schofield, WI, a homeowner noticed severe inward movement in a basement wall, including horizontal cracking, stair-step fractures, and measurable bowing through the center of the block. Marathon County’s dense, moisture-retentive soils were exerting high lateral pressure, especially during freeze–thaw cycles, causing the wall to shift inward. The displacement was greater at mid-wall height—an indication that a traditional anchor system alone would not provide enough vertical restraint, making channel anchor reinforcement the appropriate solution.

After:
Sure-Dry installed a series of GeoLock® Channel Anchors to stabilize the failing wall and distribute soil pressure evenly from top to bottom. Each channel was secured to the floor and ceiling joists, while anchor rods were driven into stable, undisturbed soil outside the pressure zone. Torque readings confirmed proper soil engagement before the system was tensioned into place.
The wall is now locked against further movement, with adjustable hardware that allows gradual straightening over time—ideal for the clay-heavy soil conditions common across Central Wisconsin.
