Dirt Crawl Space in Harbor Springs, MI Encapsulated and Dry
Barry K's dirt crawl space allowed cold, damp air to seep in which led to cold floors in the room above this crawl space. We laid down a drainage mat which is made specifically for crawl spaces, are perfect for uneven floors, and they capture any water that may enter the space. We then encapsulated the space with our CleanSpace crawl space liner.
Improving Harbor Springs, MI, Basement with Egress Window
JP knew his basement windows were a safety issue when he realized they didn't open from the inside. He knew there had to be other options, so he researched and called Ayers for help. Our crew of professionals visited his home and recommended the installation of an egress window designed to provide an escape during emergencies. Egress windows are durable enough to withstand heavy soil and water weight and have a polycarbonate safety cover that won't break when stepped on. JP feels safer in his home!
Incredible CleanSpace Facelift for Harbor Springs Home
This crawl space had high moisture levels and poor air quality, which eventually led to cracking in the drywall above. With a cinderblock foundation and outside entry, it was vulnerable to dampness and lacked proper protection.
Ayers transformed the space by installing a CleanSpace vapor barrier and drainage matting, creating a protective seal that prevents moisture from entering. We also added a Sedona dehumidifier to keep humidity in check. Now, the crawl space is clean, dry, and protected—helping to maintain the structural integrity of the home and improving air quality throughout.
CleanSpace System Saves a Sale in Prudenville, MI
After inheriting this Prudenville, MI property was from his father, the new owner decided it was time to say goodbye to the place and put the home up for sale. He was then blindsided during the sale process when he found out that the home was suffering from a terrible case of moldy crawl space syndrome (not a real diagnosis, but you get the point). The inspector informed the new owner that if he wanted to have any chance of selling the home, he would need to eradicate the mold and encapsulate the crawl space to prevent it from happening again.
Because the house was located next to a lake, moisture was very common and the crawl space would need a full system to make sure mold didn’t return. Beneath the CleanSpace vapor barrier seen in the after photo, is a drainage matting. The drainage matting is designed to keep water from puddling up and force the flow of water towards a newly installed Smart drain for discharge. Not pictured from the installation, but also designed to put a stop to mold were the SaniDry crawl space dehumidifier and vent covers. The CleanSpace barrier will prevent moisture from coming through walls and the floor, and the air tight vent covers will stop moisture and humidity from entering through the wide vent entrances. With all of these products working together, this home will be protected from mold growth for years to come.
Egress Window Brightens Onsted, MI Basement
Building code requires an egress window in a basement bedroom, but they are often a desired feature in any finished basement or even unfinished spaces because they let light into a normally dark room.
