Radon Gas Combated in Minneapolis, MN
A homeowner from Minneapolis, MN, had just learned about the dangers of radon gas in a household. She didn't know much about Minneapolis radon companies, so she took to the internet. After searching for Minneapolis radon mitigation, she quickly found our website. She was impressed with our photo galleries of other radon systems we had installed in her area, so she signed up for her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Romeo V, was headed out to the home.
When Romeo arrived, his first order of business was placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. This test functions to capture radon levels within the home over a 48-hour timespan, delivering the average level of radon after the test. Romeo explained to the homeowner that, should the levels come back higher than 4 pCi/L, she should strongly consider a radon mitigation system. He explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He went on to say that, when installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner liked Romeo's comprehensive plan and decided to wait until her levels returned to make a choice. A few days later, Romeo returned to the home to collect the results, which returned well above the Environmental Protection Agency recommended level of 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner worked with Romeo to find a good installation date.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Geno, led his team through a seamless installation of the mitigation system. When they concluded, our customer was happy to know that she and her family would be breathing in clean air from now on!

Basement Waterproofing in Minneapolis, MN
Carol P. of Minneapolis, MN had water leaking into her basement. She found an American Waterworks advertisement in her local newspaper, so she called our office and scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist. Our Design Specialist went to her house, thoroughly inspected her basement problems, and proposed a solution that would work for her and her needs. Carol was confident in the proposal, so she signed the contract and got a date scheduled for the installation.
Our Foreman and his crew started the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, which is an interior drainage system that collects water seepage from basement walls and has easily-accessible service ports when it comes time for annual maintenance. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the wall perimeter, which is a wall protectant that prevents water from seeping through the walls and saves money on energy costs. To complete the project, our crew filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over them, ensuring the space was neater and cleaner than they found it.

High Radon Gas Levels Eliminated from Saint Anthony, MN, Home
A homeowner from Saint Anthony, MN, got in touch with us after they conducted an at-home radon gas test. The homeowner was disconcerted when the levels came back high and decided to look into Minnesota radon specialists. When the homeowner found our website, he signed up for one of our FREE estimates, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Nick S, was headed out to the home.
When Nick arrived, he first met with the homeowner. He informed them that because the levels of radon gas returned so high, he would strongly urge them to consider a radon gas mitigation system. Nick elaborated, explaining that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He went on to say that when installed by an experienced professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health safety agencies. With that, Nick left the homeowner to think about the recommendation while he continued his inspection, scoping out the best place for a radon mitigation system. When the inspection was completed, the homeowner decided to schedule his project with Nick.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Geno M, and his team seamlessly installed the mitigation system, successfully restoring our customer's faith in the air circulating his home!

Wet Basement Restored in Coon Rapids, MN
Mitch J. in Coon Rapids, MN had water seeping into his basement. He expressed his frustration about the problem in his basement to a friend and that friend recommended that he call American Waterworks to waterproof his basement. Mitch decided to call us for a free estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to his home to inspect the problem and design a solution. Jeremy worked closely with Mitch to develop a plan that was best fitting for his needs. Mitch was pleased with the proposal that Jeremy presented to him, so he scheduled a date for us to waterproof his basement.
Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of Mitch’s basement, and the concrete where they needed to install the new sump pump. Then, they laid our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter and a feed line through the middle of the basement floor. The WaterGuard and feed line properly drain water to the sump pump, instead of the water pooling in his basement. Once the water reaches the sump pump, it is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Mitch was very pleased with the work that the crew did! He is glad he chose to invest in his home and protect his basement for the long-term.
