Crawl Space Upgraded in Rochester, MN

A Rochester, MN, homeowner had noticed a musty smell wafting through his home in the past few months. He had tried several remedies to get the odor removed from his home but nothing was working. He was aware that American Waterworks, a local company in his town, worked on unhealthy crawl spaces, so he decided to schedule his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Gary S, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

After completing his thorough inspection, Gary informed the homeowner that the crawl space was taking unnecessary water and recommended two of our products to address the damp basement. First, Gary wanted to use our CleanSpace for crawl spaces. This 100% waterproof tarp-like material gets adhered directly to the walls of the crawl space and works to collect water entering the space through holes or cracks in the wall, directing it downward. Next, Gary wanted to use our drainage matting. Crawl space liners rest directly on the crawl space floor. If your crawl space is flooding, water can be trapped underneath, never making it to your perimeter drain. The raised dimples on our CleanSpace® Drainage Matting give the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath your crawl space liner. This directs the water flooding your crawl space to the appropriate disposal site. The homeowner liked the sound of Gary's plan, and scheduled the job on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Jeromy A, led his team through the installation of 450 sqft of Drainage Matting and another 528 sqft of CleanSpace. Now, our customers can rest easy knowing foul odors have been handled!

Sump Pump Upgrade Saves Basement in Rochester, MN

A homeowner from Rochester, MN, faced a problem with his sump pump. The system was old and had trouble keeping up during heavy water intrusion, resulting in water leaking into his space. The homeowner had heard that American Waterworks provided basement waterproofing in Rochester, MN, and decided to give us a call to set up her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Tim S, was headed out to the home.

When Tim arrived, he wasted no time getting into the home's basement to find the root of the issue. When Tim finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. First, Tim wanted to address the water entering the space with the help of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. Tim explained that CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly on the unfinished walls of the basement. It works to trap water entering through holes and cracks in the wall, directing it downward and feeding into Tim's second recommendation, our WaterGuard drainage system. Our WaterGuard is a unique French drain that gets installed below the floor of the basement, atop the footing of the foundation, to keep it out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog. This drain functions to give water running down the wall and water coming up through the floor a channel to flow to a disposal site. While Tim had been in the basement, he had noticed the basement sump pump was old and outdated. So he recommended the installation of our SuperSump plus sump pump, an economical yet effective choice to rid a basement of water. Finally, Tim suggested the installation of our Foamax basement wall insulation and finishing panels, saying that insulating your basement walls with Foamax provides comfort and energy bill savings while making your walls look clean and bright. Foamax is an advanced foam insulation panel that reduces condensation for exceptional moisture protection. The homeowner liked all of the products Tim had presented to him, and signed on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Jose F, made quick work of the installation. When they had finished their long day, they had successfully installed 69ft of WaterGuard, 35 ft of Foamax and CleanSpace, and 1 SuperSump sump pump. Now, our customer is thrilled to know he no longer has to worry about an outdate system draining his basement down!

Outdated Sump Pump Replaced in Rochester, MN

A resident of Rochester, MN, was looking into buying a property with an older sump pump already installed. Through his experience with the home, the system had never functioned, and he worried that when the rain returned, his basement would fall victim to unwanted water. Being a Rochester native, he knew that American Waterworks was the premier choice for basement waterproofing in Minnesota, so he called to set up his FREE estimate.

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan M, headed out to the home to see the outdated sump pump. After he concluded his estimate appointment, he met with the homeowner. He informed him that his suspicions were correct and that the sump pump would need replacement. Ryan wanted to give our customer the best shot as dry basement success, so he recommended our TripleSafe sump pump, the most reliable sump pump in our lineup. Ryan explained that the TripleSafe boasts three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe has a powerful Zoeller 1/3 horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For times of heavy water intrusion, or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller 1/2 horsepower pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. The homeowner was thrilled with the recommendation and scheduled the job on the spot.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Diego B, and his team flawlessly installed 1 of our TripleSafe sump pumps in the basement of the home. Now, our customers can enjoy all the perks of a new home with none of the headaches that come with a damp basement!
